The bowl total now increases from 39 to 42 with the edition of 3 more sorry ass
bowl games.

Los Angeles Bowl.....Myrtle Beach Bowl.....Fenway Bowl

That makes 84 teams out of 130 that will be playing in a bowl game. I can see
it now. Welcome to the XXXXXXXX bowl where Akron (4-8) will be playing UTEP
(4-8) in what should be an exciting contest. Tickets now available at $82.00.

Ridiculous!

That is crazy!

I agree totally.....

The Birmingham Bowl had less than 3,000 spectators for the game. Rainy
weather but still NO interest from the community or school's fan base. To
be honest....the majority are nothing more than TV bowls. Hell, I guarantee
you half the players in these bowls don't want to be there. After 3 months
of football, they are tired of practice and just want a break. Most of the
schools lose money playing in these lessor bowls.

Clover, I remember the days (you probably do also) when playing in a late December or January 1st Bowl game really meant something to the players and coaches and fans having a chance visit a warm weather location like Miami (the Orange Bowl), the Sugar Bowl (New Orleans). the Cotton Bowl (Dallas Texas) the Peach Bowl (Atlanta), the Gator Bowl (Jacksonville), the Tangerine Bowl, (Orlando), the Sun Bowl (El Paso) and the granddaddy of them all. the Rose Bowl (Pasadena) and then there was the Blue-Grey and the North South games played in the deep-south, I recall the East West Shrine game played in San Francisco that was about it.

All these bowl and all-star games were well attended and the players felt privileged to be there playing, it often was a trip of a life-time. I would wager that half of these players today have been to Disney Land or Universal Studios....several times before they graduated from H.S. Now we have the "Pin Stripe" and the Meinecke Car Care-bowls and dozens of other meaningless bowl games.....Gosh, whatever happened to the "Beef-O-Brady" bowl.

I think it has a little to do with the "every player gets a participation trophy" syndrome/mentality.....Kind-of like Little League B.B. today and.....the Money.

my clock is stuck on 420 time to hit this bong

Might as well bring back the blue bonnet bowl unless it got renamed wow maybe save a couple of these toilets for Super Bowl bye week should be enough time for some of these 5-7 teams to figure some shit out.

I don’t join bowl pools anymore because I almost refuse to watch a Thursday afternoon game between a MAC team and a Conf USA school who finished 6-6 playing in front of 7,000 people in Macon Georgia (unless I feel that 1 team has a major edge)
