Two time ACC Player of the Year Travis Etienne announced he will be returning
for his senior year at Clemson. The 5-10, 210 pound running back is also the
Tigers all-time leading rusher. This season he ran for 1,614 yards and 19 TDs.

Alabama running back Najee Harris will also forego the NFL Draft and return for
his senior year. The 6-2, 230 pounder from California rushed for 1,224 yards
this season with 13 touchdowns. He also caught 27 passes for 304 yards and
7 TDs.

Great news for both schools...………………………..

I wonder how their NFL grades were?

Where were they projected to get drafted?

Always strange to see a stud college rb come back for their senior year and take another year of pounding.

Both were projected for the second round. A really good senior year might get them to the first.

i dont know.....I think i take the money here, make a little less on the first contract, and then be 1 year younger when it comes time to be a free agent.

Of course, I wont crap on a student athlete for actually deciding to stay in school

Curious to see how that Harris/Saban conversation went.

I figured Nick already had "next man up" in his rotation and figured that Harris leaves?

I wonder if the success of Derek Henry had Harris stay? Saban maybe telling him that he can make him like Henry? I'm reaching here but just wondering.

Props to both players towards working on their college degree. Nothing wrong with that

Saban has made it clear he does not try to talk players into staying at Alabama or going into
the NFL. He gives them facts about where they will be drafted. The information is gathered
by a committee at Bama to help the players make an educated choice.

You nailed it with Derek Henry. Henry talked with Harris and suggested it would be wise to
stay one more year...get his degree and prove he's a first round choice. I personally believe
Harris made the right choice by staying. Bama will pound the ball this coming season and
Harris will be a big part of it. He's a big, tough runner and excellent receiver.

I always think of Willis Mcgahee and Lattimore. Running back is a brutal position, think Etienne was 3rd or 4th rb in mock drafts

Bama's defense will be much improved. A lot of freshman had to play during
2019 and the defense took its lumps. The 2020 defense will look like former
Saban defenses.

Clemson will also be strong on defense so yeah they could meet for the title.
Can't forget Ohio State...the Buckeyes will be in the mix also.

Bama will get tested quick. They have USC and Georgia in September
