Happy Super Bowl Sunday
Well after 2 weeks to digest all the info here are my thoughts.
In the NE/ATL Superbowl Atl raced out to that 28-3 lead - then for some reason they lengthened the game by throwing the ball around in the second half and NE slowly made its way back. OC was Shanahan - Do you think he has learned anything from that loss?
One the best things I read all week was Mahommes has trouble with defenses that do not blitz and can get pressure with the front four. I expect SF to keep Patrick in check and those two Ends Bosa and Ford will be chasing him all around his back field, while his receivers are covered downfield. Which in effect stunts the KC Strength the passing game
San Fran does quite a bit of zone rushing outside the tackles which will limit NT Chris Jones effectiveness at stopping the run. So I don't feel their strength will be neutralized
The last point I want to make is this, teams that can run the ball and play defense win championships. San Fransisco is the best rushing team in the league, ( Baltimore complied more yards per game but that was B/c their QB would routinely run for 75 yards / game) . SF has one of the best pass defenses in the league. Lastly SF offensive and defensive scoring average is better than KC, there has been some noise about KC's Defense in the last 6 games but consider their opposition.
Lame Old Tom Brady
Rookie QB at Denver
Lame young Mitchell Trubisky
Lame Old Phillip Rivers
One dimensional Houston
Exhausted Tennessee
Plus 4 out of 6 at home.
Wrong team is favoured - But they made KC a short favorite b/c the public will approve of Mahomie over Jimmy G and they essential have
My last couple of points .....
SF played a top 10 team 9 times and won 7, KC 6 and won 4.,
SF played a tougher schedule and have better stats.
In Games with a Line of +3 to -3 SF is 5-0 this year KC is 1-0.
Originally I thought KC was going to be my play but the more I let it marinate the more I decided SF was the play - Shanny wont let this one slip away!
Now that I have picked a side and laid it out here's how I bet the game
SF ML +105 $600
SF 1st Q and FT +235 $200
SF -6.5 +230 $100
SF 1st Half 1-6 +450 $100
SF 1st Half 7-12 +400 $100
Play off MVP - FIELD - no qb, rb or receiver. +450 $50
Lets go Niners!
