*Oregon has hired former Mississippi State head coach Joe Moorhead as its new
offensive coordinator. Moorhead was OC at Penn State before taking the head
coaching job at MSU.

*Former Florida starting quarterback Feleipe Franks will be transferring to Arkansas
where as a graduate transfer he will eligible to play this fall. I give Razorbacks
new coach three years max. Terrible hire.

*Ex-Houston quarterback D'Erig King has transferred to Miami and will begin classes
this week. King no doubt will be the No. 1 quarterback entering spring drills. Great
pickup for the Canes.

*Georgia has received a verbal commitment from five-star quarterback Brock
Vandagriff who had previously committed to Oklahoma. Vandagriff ranks as the
No. 1 pro-style QB, the No. 1 player in Georgia, and the No. 8 overall recruit for
the 2021 cycle. If Kirby could just coach as well as he recruits...…………………...

*Lane Kiffin has completed his new staff at Ole Miss and by most reports it's a
good one. One thing he learned while working with Saban is to hire good re-
cruiters who can coach. Looks like Kiffin has done just that.

Coach....Position...….2019 School
Jeff Lebby, Offensive Coor/QBs, Central Florida
Joe Jon Finley, Pass game coor/TEs, Texas A&M
Derrick Nix, WRs, Ole Miss
Kevin Smith, RBs, Florida Atlantic
Randy Clements, Run game coor/OL, Florida State
D.J. Durkin, Defensive coor/LBs, Maryland
Terrell Buckley, CBs, Mississippi State
Chris Partridge, Safeties, Michigan
Freddie Roach, DL/RC, Ole Miss
Blake Gideon, Special Teams, Houston
Wilson Love, Strength Coor, Florida Atlantic

*Jadevon Clowney, a 4-star defensive end from Baltimore has committed to Ole Miss.
He had offers from Clemson, Georgia, LSU, Miami and Penn State. Nationally, he was
ranked the No. 8 defensive end in the country. Nice pick up for the Rebs and new
coaching staff.

*Hawaii has hired veteran Todd Graham as its new head coach. Graham has been the
head man at Pitt, Arizona State, Rice and Tulsa over his 30 year career. Why Hawaii
hired this guy is beyond me.

*Michigan (Jimmy) has hired two former defensive coordinators as assistants to his
staff. Bob Shoop who was DC at Mississippi State last year will coach safeties and
Brian Jene-Mary who was DC at South Florida will coach linebackers. Looks like two
good additions to the defensive staff.

*Auburn defensive coordinator Kevin Steele has agreed to a new 3-year contract taking
him through the 2022 season. No details were given but Steele made $1.9 million last
year.

*Mike Leach (Mississippi State) has named Zack Arnett as his new defensive coordinator.
The 33 year old Arnett spent the past two seasons as DC at San Diego State. Not sure
the SEC is a good place to train an inexperienced DC. Especially in the West Division.

*Joe Moorhead (Ex-Miss St. coach) has signed a two year contract with Oregon as the
Ducks new offensive coordinator. Moorhead will make $900,000 in 2020 and $1 million
in 2021. Man, we shall see...…

*UConn now has 24 players who have entered the transfer portal. Two dozen for God's
sake.

*What's going on at once proud UCLA? Well, let's consider the DEFENSE or lack thereof.
The D finished ranked 112th out of 130 FBS teams in total defense, No. 115 in scoring D
and No. 129 in passing yards allowed during the 2019 season.

Paying Kevin Steele 2.5 million per year is all the evidence you need to confirm Auburn's program is turning into a bad day in Bosnia.

Clemson 2020 Schedule

@ Georgia Tech
Louisville
Akron
Virginia
@ Boston College
@ Florida State
North Carolina State
Syracuse
Open Date
@ Notre Dame
The Citadel
@ Wake Forest
South Carolina

Looks like a one game season when the Tigers travel to Notre Dame.

*Georgia's new offensive coordinator Todd Monken will make $1.1 million
in 2020 with the Dogs. He made $700,000 as head coach of Southern
Miss last year.

*Hawaii will pay new coach Todd Graham $800,000 per season during his
five year contract. That's $100,000 more than the previous coach Nick
Rolovick.

*Former Hawaii coach Nick Rolovick signed his five year contract with Wash
State this week. The deal will pay Rolovick $3 million per season with a buy-
out starting at $8 million.

LSU has signed Big 0 to a six year, $42 million dollar contract.

(Guess he earned it after not getting much money respect from the school before)

Did you know...………………..

…..Since taking over as interim coach at LSU in 2016, Big O has compiled a 40-9
(23-7 SEC) record. The Tigers have also gone 11-1 in its last 12 games against
Top Ten ranked opponents, including 7-0 in 2019. Nice to have a $7 million per
year salary.

…..Texas A&M is 17-9 in Jimbo's first two seasons, and seven of those losses were
Top Ten teams. Fisher is just 1-5 against Alabama, Auburn and LSU since joining
the Aggies.

…..Clemson (5), Alabama (5), Oklahoma (4) and Ohio State (3) have combined for
17 of 24 possible Playoff appearances, and those four schools will be popular picks
to wind there conferences in 2020.

Best Returning Quarterbacks by Conference

AAC - Brady White - Memphis State - (4,014 yards, 33 TDs, 2019)
ACC - Trevor Lawrence - Clemson - (3,665, 36)
Big 12 - Sam Ellinger - Texas - (3,663, 32)
Big 10 - Justin Fields - Ohio State - (3,273, 41)
CUSA - Chris Robinson, Florida Atlantic - (3,901, 28)
Indp - Ian Book - Notre Dame - (3,034, 34)
MAC - Drew Plitt - Ball State - (2,918, 24)
MWC - Hank Bachmeier - Boise State - (1,879, 9)
Pac 12 - Kedon Slovis - USC - (3,502, 30)
SEC - Kyle Trast - Florida - (2,941, 25)
SBC - Zac Thomas - App State (2,718, 28)

If you disagree with any on this list, let us know who you would substitute.
For example, Lane Hatcher (Arkansas State) could easily be substituted for
Chris Robinson (FAU). The Alabama transfer came on strong with ASU.

*Kentucky has 17 starters returning from a eight win season. May just be
the surprise team of the SEC East with both Georgia and Florida beatable.
Don't sleep on the Cats in 2020.

*After a 4-8 season, some say Will Muschamp is on the hot seat at South
Carolina. Granted, injuries and a tough schedule contributed to the bad
record. The schedule is not as difficult in 2020 but does provide a tough
stretch at the end of the season with Georgia, LSU and Clemson. Willie
better pad that record early.

Look out for Dillon Gabriel at UCF. He was a true freshman last year and threw for $3,653 yards and 29 touchdowns. He also had 2 less starts than Brady White last season (Gabriel did not start week 1 and Memphis played in conf championship game). I think he's the best pure passer that UCF has ever had. Before anyone laughs, thats the same school as Culpepper, Bortles, and Milton

Oklahoma State - The Cowboys could be a Big 12 contender after the decisions of
two key offensive pieces return for another season. Chuba Hubbard, who led the
FBS in 2019 with 2,094 rushing yards, is the biggest name to return. Also, Tylan
Wallace, who was the 2018 Bilenikoff finalist returns. Wallace has averaged over
17 yards per catch during his career with the Cowboys. That should lead to one
heck of an offense around quarterback Spencer Sanders. If Oklahoma State can
stay healthy, they might just give Oklahoma a run for the league title. Cowboys
might just be a good play early in the season before the public catches up.

*As usual, Alabama gets an SEC high three teams this season who will be coming
off open dates (Tennessee, Mississippi State, LSU). Meanwhile Arkansas, Auburn,
Kentucky, Missouri and Vanderbilt all get to avoid anyone in SEC play who had two
weeks to prepare.

*November 28...mark it down on your SEC calendar. Auburn goes to Alabama, LSU
travels to Texas A&M, Florida heads north to Florida State, Kentucky buses to Louisville
and South Carolina drives over to Clemson. That's a pretty darn good card for one day.

Oregon - Looking at the Ducks schedule, there is one game that sticks out to
me and that's the opener against defending FCS national champion North Dakota
State. What makes the NDS game dangerous is the team that comes to town
the following week. Two tough first games for various reasons.

North Dakota State.....Ohio State.....Hawaii.....@Colorado.....Washington....Open
…..@Cal.....Stanford.....@Arizona.....Southern Cal.....Arizona State....@Washington
State.....@Oregon State.

Beware of North Dakota State in the opener...…………………..

Breaking in new QB won't help either. Biggest concern by far

Recruiting - With the final signing date (Feb. 5th) for high school football players,
most recruits signed during the early signing period. A handful of players still have
not signed with a school. One such player is running back Zachary Evans who is rated
the No. 1 RB prospect in the country. The 5-star rated player is also ranked the No. 1
prospect in the state of Texas. Originally, Evans signed with Georgia during the early
signing period, then changed his mind and ask to be released, which Georgia did. Now
he's a hot commodity among a number of schools who want his services. It is believed
that Texas A&M is in the mix as well as Ole Miss with a late push by Lane Kiffin. Also,
Tennessee and Florida are expressing strong interest. Sounds like the kid is milking the
recruiting process for all he can get. I wouldn't surprised if he ends up at Georgia where
he originally committed. Being from Houston, I'm surprised Texas is not in the hunt.

I'm fairly certain that Georgia refused to accept his LOI on signing day. THAT was the catalyst for his continuing the recruiting process.

This is a guy that was dismissed from his high school team one week before the state championship game. His coach simply couldn't take one more minute of the kid's attitude. My wager, if someone would take it, would be that this guy hits the transfer portal at some point, regardless of which school he signs with. THAT way, he keeps his Georgia recruitment money, the money he gets from whomever he signs with AND the money from whomever picks him up out of the portal.

Southeastern Conference - Commissioner Greg Sankey announced today that $651 million of
total revenue had been divided among the 14 SEC schools for the 2018-19 fiscal year. That
total combines the $624.2 million from the conference office, and $26.8 million from schools
that participated in bowl games offset by travel and other bowl expenses. That meant a pay-
day of about $44.6 million to each school, which was up from $43.1 million in the 2017-18
fiscal year.
