Very interesting card at GP as we are leading up to the Pegasus World Cup on Saturday. Some unfamiliar faces in town to mix in with the locals.
Race 1 - #9 Nice Adventure (8-1) Other than the rail horse, who will be hammered at the windows, nothing really jumps off the page here. This first-timer has decent turf pedigree and starts for solid connections. Curious that she shows four published works in recent 2-week stretch. (1-9-6-7)
Race 2 - #1 Golden Nole (8-1) Looking at her last four tries I see she tried hard on grass and tired late, she had a rough beginning and threw in the towel, and in the other two she wired the fields while driving late. She may be the fastest early speed in here. (7-1-4-2)
Race 3 - #6 First in Command (9-2) The contenders in this race all lack speed. I like this one because she should be more forwardly placed than the other late runners. (1-6-4-5)
Race 4 - #7 Big Boss Lady (6-1) Had a bad-luck run in turf debut and still finished a game 2nd. She will most likely improve with added distance and a better trip puts her in the mix. (7-2-6-8)
Race 5 - #1 Night Watch (3-1) Has raced well with Zayas aboard in the past and drops into an easier level. (1-6-3-5)
Race 6 - #3 Anjali (12-1) The speed in this race is suspect and if she's in the right spot her late kick should put her in a photo. (7-3-4-2)
Race 7 - #7 Empire Power (7-2) Natural born miler seems headed in the right direction since the freshening. (7-1-2-4)
Race 8 - #2 Cajun Casanova (7-2) Stakes winner in his only turf try. Faded in his last two on dirt, but if he's fit he wins with ease. (2-1-5-10)
Race 9 - #3 Colour Guard (6-1) Gets blinkers and turns back to a sprint. (3-5-1-4)
Race 10 - #7 Royal Family (15-1) This is a frustrating horse. He should be better than he's shown, but sometimes these turfers mature late. He's probably in over his head but the price will be right. (4-3-7-8)
Best of luck to all the horse players!
