This is what I came up with.

Give 8.0 points to either team if their opponent is playing in their very first Super Bowl in franchise history. n/a

Give 7.0 points to the team with the best straight up win/loss record including playoffs. sf
Give 7.0 points to the team with the most offensive rushes on the season. sf
Give 5.0 points to the team with the better defensive yards-per-carry average. sf
Give 4.0 points to the team that has the best net kick-punt touchdown returns. kc
Give 4.0 points to the team the team who performed better against the point spread in the regular season. sf
Give 4.0 points to the team that has the better net penalty yards number. sf
Give 3.5 points to the team that has the greater yards per pass attempt. kc
Give 3.5 points to the team that has allowed up the fewest points on the season. sf
Give 3.5 points to the team that has given up the fewest amount of rushing touchdowns. sf
Give 3.0 points to the team that has recorded the most sacks. sf
Give 2.5 points to the team with the fewer offensive pass attempts. sf
Give 2.0 points to the team that had the best net punts (total) on the year. kc
Give 1.5 points to the team with the best offensive yards-per-carry average. sf

P.S. I can't guarantee my math. You're on your own.

Interesting post.

Found this from another site from 2013 before the SF/BALT Super Bowl:

Hank Stram's famous Superbowl Formula is said to be at 39-4-2 going into this game. He did have it for all SB's. I can't confirm that for sure but I KNOW it's an unbelievable record for picking the straight up winner and Hank Stram is no dummy. I for one will be POUNDING the 49ers money line in Vegas next weekend...

1. Give 10 points if a team has won a Super Bowl in the last three years. NONE

6. Give 5.0 points to the team with the lower defensive rush average per carry. 49ERS
7. Give 4.0 points to the team that has the best net kick-punt touchdown returns. ???
8. Give 4.0 points to the team the team with the better record against the point spread. 49ERS
9. Give 4.0 points to the team that has the superior net penalty yards. 49ERS

14. Give 2.5 points to the team with the fewest offensive pass attempts. 49ERS
15. Give 2.0 points to the team that had the best net punts (total) on the year. ???
16. Give 1.5 points to the team with the best average per offensive rush. 49ERS
17. Give 1.0 points to the team with the best completion percentage. 49ERS

From what I've read this system was a modification by Power Sweep of Hank Stam and Tim Colishaw formulas. PS modified it another time after the method started to lose but haven't seen what changes they made to make the record better.

A lot of it is outdated. One recent example - It had PIT ahead of GB something like 47-8 and GB won that SB 31-25 I think it was.
