Oh no, he didn't step down, he retired. OK, same thing.

A great coach who could do a lot with limited talent.

First MSU had the Nassar thing, then three football players get charged with sexual assault, and then......a player recruited with a sexual criminal past commits sexual assault on campus.
THEN, Curtis Blackwell gets fired basically for interfering with the sexual assault investigation, and he files a lawsuit while throwing mud everywhere!
Yeah, I would retire too!!!

One more thing. Dantonio received a 4.5 million dollar bonus if he was still coach as of Jan. 15th. So if you wonder why now and not earlier, you know.
Good business move.

On the flip side, MSU could have fired him prior to Jan. 15th and saved +4 mil., at least they showed some loyalty.

This statement makes no sense to me.
Please explain WHY giving deposition to Blackwell's attorneys left him with no chance of staying????

MSU AD Bill Beekman flew to Cinci last night. Word is he is meeting with Luke Fickell today. IMO, unless MSU makes a huge offer Fickell will stay put. MSU currently has no other candidates!!
