If the Ivy League Hierarchy finds it prudent to cancel their tournaments who is next and far does this reach?

AP News, CAMBRIDGE, Mass. — The Ivy League on Tuesday canceled its men's and women's basketball tournaments because of concerns about the spread of coronavirus.

The four-team tournaments were scheduled to be played Friday through Sunday at Lavietes Pavilion in Cambridge. The Ivy League instead will award its automatic NCAA Tournament bids to the regular-season champions, the Princeton women and Yale men.

The tournaments are the first at the Division I basketball level to be canceled by the coronavirus outbreak.

Conference tournaments have been going on all over the country since last week at venues big and small. Most of the biggest conferences such as the Big Ten and Southeastern Conference begin their men's tournaments this week at large arenas in major cities.

Bureaucrats are either scared shitless or they want to show how compassionate and proactive they are

They're taking the easy exit, can't be blamed for anything

But as I posted in another thread, they are still sending the mens and womens team to the big tourney where there are much bigger crowds. Hypocrisy at it's finest

Herd panic mentality. Unless someone is infected and spreads it to an entire arena full of 80 year old plus people, the risk of death, or even serious illness, is very low. Let's all run out and buy some toilet paper. Because..........ummmm.....because.....we think we should? Because that's what they did in China? I find myself wondering if this sort of panic would've happened 25 years ago, before we were connected to the talking heads 24/7.

I think they should let them play in empty arenas. But to downplay and be Trumpian like the two above posters is not the answer either. I don't believe in panicking at this point of the game but taking a little precaution is fine.

Are they seriously worried about big crowds? You see the attendance at the other tourneys? Put a mask on every 10th seat

This is not about politics, it's for the welfare of people and the country. It's possible that we could end up like Italy and China.

You're a fool. It's obvious you're making it political cause you're a devoted Trumpanzee and have your tiny brain up his ass. Coronavirus is a hoax and a Democrat creation, right?

The Democrats started the political crap, very eary, why waste a crisis?
It is very policital, Schumer made a nasty statement that smeared Trump well over a month ago, with no data, no evidence, no backup... then the other Democrats chimed in with alarmist, misleading propaganda supported by the globalist media.
OF COURSE the IVY league would lead the way to make this all seem worse than it is... anybody with a brain who knows what is going on in this country would know that..

My post has nothing do with Chuck Shumer or politics but I guess if one is extreme right/left it can be construed that way? I'm an independent thinker and make decisions on facts especially scientific ones. Anyway political forum is elsewhere, go there. I'm here to make money and talk about CBB gambling.
