The flu is apparently more deadly vs children than COVID-19. That much more extreme measures have been taken vs COVID-19 than the flu, & children being allowed to die from the flu is not too surprising. After all tens of millions of babies have been allowed to be murdered by abortion.

Interesting comment here:

To answer your question whether COVID-19 is going to kill more people than the flu in a typical year, that depends on the measures in place and how people follow those measures. If no measures are in place, then no doubt the number of deaths from COVID-19 will far out pace the numbers die from the flu. Obviously that will not happen given the extraordinary measures governments around the world are taking.

How about we compare apples to apples. I am certain that the number of people that die from COVID-19, from now to the rest of this year, will far exceed the number of deaths from seasonal flu, unless of course if a cure or vaccine is widely available before then. Are you willing to make a bet on this? Loser has to donate money to a charity of the winner's choice with prove, or get permanently banned from Perb.

From the same source:

[h=2]One day death toll in US past 1000 for COVID-19[/h]
COVID-19 now killed twice the number of people in one day compared to the worst day in 2017/2018 flu season in US. The 2017/2018 is the worst flu season in the last decade.

Death toll is expected to reach over 2200/day in mid April according to a U. of Washington model.

Anyone still think COVID-19 is not a big deal, because it has killed less people than the seasonal flu, please put up their hand.

"In early March, Dr. Anthony Fauci, the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), said the virus was 10 times more deadly than the seasonal flu, with a 2 percent mortality rate. He did emphasize, however, that the number could drop depending on “what the factor of asymptomatic cases are.”

"Many initially thought the coronavirus carried similar symptoms and risks as the flu, Fauci said Thursday the coronavirus has shown to be "10 times" worse than influenza.

..."It's similar in that it's a respiratory illness that's transmitted by the respiratory route," Fauci said. "It gives a degree of pathology that it's very, very much more transmissible than flu and more importantly, it's significantly more serious."
