Sorry , I know this is the Coronavirus forum now !

They're not that expensive anymore, small yard ( about .18 acres), I don't want to mess with gasoline or pay my neighbor $25 to do it every couple of weeks, which I did last season after my old gas mower died.

Makita lawn mower 18volt rechargeable probably requires 2 or 4 batteries same you would use for drill or sawzall.

My buddy has one it’s nice . Think he payed around 500+ came with battery package go to there website shop around but what ever brand you go with make sure you buy with battery package unless you already have a bunch of tools that use these.

You get what you pay for.
The battery will die in less than two years and a replacement battery may cost as much or more than the lawn mower.
Make sure that you get the mower and battery in one package.
Get a warranty that covers the battery.

A gas mower is better. I bought one off season for $149.00 and have done nothing to it, but add gas and a little oil.

It's worked great for five years. And more importantly if it would have broken down or when it finally does break down,
I'll just get another cheap mower.

The most urgent need for any electric lawnmower after having the battery pack warranty is a supply of fresh, sharp blades.

Average blade should give a decent cut about six to seven times on an average sized suburban lawn

.18 acre I would change blade after four mows....or less if your lawn is not sufficiently lush to keep the mower blade suction from pulling up sand or other soil which will dull the edge much faster

So I suggest supplementing your electric mower purchase w at least three or more spare blades. As you attach the last fresh sharp blade, take the others to any local mower repair shop or neighbor w a grinder and get a new edge honed.

Most lawn mower blades can be freshly honed three or four times before becoming too short in length. So one cycle of like five mows w *new* blade plus another 15-20 following sharpenings

Failure to cut with a sharp blade slows the whole process and frankly leaves most any lawn looking more meager than when u started

well I already have a grinder, so I can sharpen it myself, but good suggestion to have extra blades.

those things absolutely suck, dont get one, just get a gas mower

after about 2-3 months you'll need to buy a 2nd battery, after that a 3rd one, then a 4th

my parents had one of those and I went thru all 4 batteries and only got half the job mowed, and I used a riding mower for the big stuff, just used that battery one for around the house, trees, flower beds, etc...

it takes hours to recharge a battery for 10-15 min of use

Surely they aren't as powerful as a gas mower are they?

Not even close. If you let your lawn grow too high you'll need to borrow your neighbor's gas-powered mower.

Battery technology is junk. Some manufacturers advertise leaf blowers as powerful as their gas-powered counterparts. What they don't tell you is the higher setting only lasts 10m, and that's with a fresh new battery.

Waste of money. A quality gas mower using fuel stabilizer and basic routine maintenance will practically last forever.

Yes. Ive own both a battery powered lawnmower and trimmer for going on 5 years now.

Love them both. They do just as good of a job as my previous gas mowers and trimmers. I've had zero issues with them.

The lawnmower is a Kobalt and the trimmer is a Black and Decker.
