I hear, China Virus, Chinese Virus, Orange Leader, etc.

I don't mind hearing opinions but it sucks to hear people's agendas. Left or Right. Extremists are taking over this forum. Hard to talk to regular people.

You are totally missing the point. It isn't trading offensive terms. That would be like telling a certain race you will be using a derogatory term and in turn, they can use one on your. That is counterproductive.

There is nothing offensive about calling it the Chinese virus. That is where it originated. Grow a pair.

[h=1]China Wants to Use the Coronavirus to Take Over the World[/h]
What started as a catastrophe for China is shaping up to be a moment of strategic opportunity, a rare turning point in the flow of history. Suddenly, the protests in Hong Kong, carrying a mortal threat to political stability in the mainland, became a physical impossibility. More important, the pandemic set in motion a global competition, to contain the virus, for which China and the Chinese Communist Party seem uniquely prepared.

Mao once said, “Everything under heaven is in utter chaos, the situation is excellent.” And so it seems at present, as seen from Beijing. Chinese diplomats stationed all over the world spend their time raising the stakes to a dangerous level. Following instructions from the very top, they have taken to the media to issue a challenge to America, to point out its failure, and to compare the chaos in American cities and hospitals with what they see as a singular success in stopping the epidemic in China.

Last month General Motors, Ford, and Fiat Chrysler closed all their automotive production plants across the United States and Canada. Other sectors have followed. In the meantime, China contained the worst of the pandemic to one province, allowing economic activity to quickly resume elsewhere. The most recent data show renewed activity in the flow of goods across the country, as well as at ports worldwide that do business with China. If the freeze in Europe and America continues for much longer, Chinese companies will be able to dramatically expand market share and replace Western-led value chains. Just yesterday Chinese authorities announced that manufacturing activity expanded in March, defying expectations of a contraction. In February the official Purchasing Managers’ Index hit a record low of 35.7. It bounced back to 52.0 in March. Prepare for a worldwide wave of Chinese acquisitions at knockdown prices.

I also agree with this initial post. Unfortunately these strong Trump supporters are unable to present any facts. They would much rather read/watch their biased 'news' sources to feed into their irrational core beliefs. Statistical data and findings from research studies are quickly 'fake news', as I saw just weeks ago on here. As a result, they are left using bigotry & racism. Any intelligent human knows that bigots & racists are uneducated and angry with their lives. They just want to spread the hate, thinking that it will help with their insecurity. It is very childish...It is very rational to have a political side and have opinions on various policies. On the other hand, it is incomprehensible & pathetic to still support this President. A chimpanzee would be able to see the character flaws and malicious traits of Donald. A couple of these idiots were saying how CoVid-19 was all hysteria just weeks ago. Amazingly, some still are. There is no way to get through to their reptilian brains. It's more sad than anything really.

I have a hard time believing people don't understand how chinese virus is not healthy.

There are tons of Chinese Americans that live in the USA and there are a bunch of those that are being harassed, threatened, harmed, and bullied. Some of this might have happened anyways, but there is definitely a lot more hostility towards China because of this virus (which originated from China).

All I'm saying is if we try to NOT single out a race/country, we can prevent some violence. Those that keep using the term are indirectly contributing to unnecessary violence.

I feel the same way about people that are bashing Trump. He does a lot of shit I don't like but I don't blame him for anything Coronavirus. He is just doing what his advisors are telling him to do. He just seems to take all the blame.

It wasnt Trump that was is in denial. NY is the epicenter of this pandemic because Deblasio and Cuomo downplayed the risks. Take a look at the timeline in NY. When did they warn people about cramping in on the subway. They told everyone not to worry about the virus and come to the Chinese New Year parade. 5 years ago NY was told they didnt have enough ventilators but chose not to purchase ample amounts. Up until a few weeks ago Deblasio was telling people to go to the movies and the schools were still open. As for China, they have blood on their hands. The wet markets have reopened where they sell live exotic animals. The timeline shows that they denied the extent of the virus, denied it could be spread human to human, didn't allow our health professionals both access to China to assist which thwarted our initial efforts and to to this day have significantly under reported the number of cases and death. They allowed this to spread by allowing flights into Europe and elsewhere hence the large number of cases in Italy, Iran Spain and France. They then went on an international media campaign blaming the US army for spreading the disease and even threatened to cut off our supplies of anti biotics. There is no defending the Chinese who only care about dominating the world. They steal everything, they have no respect for intellectual property rights, they constantly attack our vital computer infrastructure, they have low standards for everything, hell, how many times has there been lead found in food produced there and toys made there, and they treat their employees like slaves. Yes, keep defending this brutal regime. I am not attacking the people that have left and frankly I have compassion for their slave laborers but it is time to call out the Chinese for what they are and start producing vital goods here to protect ourselves from them cutting our supply lines and to start producing things in countries that are not trying to undermine us. Stop calling us racist, bigots and uneducated. There are many very smart people here.

Yes....never address a problem because someone might get offended. What world do you live in? Just another great positive of diversity. All countries and cultures are great and special. Don't criticize them because we have some people descendant from there. What a great problem solver. Just avoid it....it will go away.

"Inditrectly contributing to the problem"
You could say that about anything
Shhhh....shut your mouth we can't have that opinion out there it is problematic
This is how freedom of speech is shut down
Hate speech....reeeeeeeeeee

On cbs about 1 minute ago the reporter started her sentence with in China where the pandemic began. Is that politically correct for you? I feel so much less bigotry by having it expressed that way. I’m sorry calling it the Chinese virus is the farthest thing from racist. Hurry up and get to your wilderness survival yoga retreat and please send a picture of the group because I’m sure it’s quite diverse.
