RFK granddaughter, 40, and son, 8, presumed dead after Chesapeake Bay mishap, family says

active search for two members of the Kennedy family who went missing Thursday during a boating trip on Chesapeake Bay in Maryland has been suspended, the U.S. Coast Guard said Friday, according to reports.

Family member Kathleen Kennedy Townsend says the search for her 40-year-old daughter, Maeve Kennedy Townsend McKean, and the daughter’s 8-year-old son Gideon McKean “has turned from rescue to recovery,” according to a statement.

Both McKean and her son were seen struggling to return to shore during a canoe trip near Herring Bay, Washington, D.C.’s FOX 5 reported.

The late-night accident was caused by Senator Ted Kennedy's negligence and resulted in the death of his 28-year-old passenger Mary Jo Kopechne

According to Kennedy's testimony, he accidentally drove his car off the one-lane bridge and into the tide-swept Poucha Pond.

He swam free, left the scene, and did not report the accident to the police for ten hours; Kopechne died inside the fully submerged car.

The story became global news and is believed to have influenced Kennedy's decision not to campaign for President in 1972 and 1976.

Maeve is a major deep stater and one of the Democrat's greatest fundraisers. CNN just portrayed her as "a PTA president, soccer mom, and marathon runner" to cut all ties to her political affiliations which include heavy WHO ties, was at DHHS with Obama, and worked several times in lead roles for Dianne Feinstein (you know, that broad that just made a bunch of millions dumping stock last month). oh, and her mom is the Lt Governor of Maryland and she's Andrew Cuomo's niece by marriage but remember above all she was
