Lisa baked all day today, we were driving to her parents to deliver food for tomorrow. In the dark of the night, in the middle of a busy road, a dog is walking straight at my car. If I don't slame on the breaks I kill him. Reminds me of my own stupid dog.

Anyhow, he's jumping on Lisa's door wanting in the car as traffic stops behind me. I know if I drive away, he probably does tonight. So I get out and pick him up. A few assholes behind me drive hastily around us.

He had no collar, no identification, he's dirty but very friendly. We drive around for a while looking to see if anyone is looking for him, no luck.

We call friends who just lost their 16 year old terrier. They love the little guy. They're going to shelter him until Monday. Look for his owners on Facebook and call both the police and the dog pound. If nobody claims him, they're keeping him.

The easy thing is to drive away, I never seem to choose the easy path

Amazing what we will do for animals

boy do my six dang dogs know that....I only blame myself for 2 of them....one rescued from an abandoned mobile home and the other to help my son out ...

They are a money pit if you take care of them properly...but they are worth it:103631605

Good man Willie, saved a life most likely :aktion033

So you're ok "saving" someone's dog in the middle of a busy highway but you've got a big problem making temporary sacrifices to save 200,000 other American citizens in the middle of a worldwide public health crisis? You weren't kidding when you said you never choose the easy path

Good job Willie. I was about to train a client a little over 6 months ago and saw a full grown Lab walking around outside our apartment fitness center. Me and my client went outside and called him over. He went right to us and sat down. Unfortunately he had no tags on his collar. I tried to get him to jump in my car, but he wouldn't. My wife was volunteering at the time at the local animal shelter and had some extra treats so I ran back to our unit and got some. I coaxed him into my car and we drove to the shelter. I went in to get one of their leashes and when I got back to my car, I noticed he had moved to the passenger side. I smiled and looked at my client, and she said he immediately moved to the front seat, was looking for me, and was whining while I was inside. I laughed as it reminded me so much of our last dog. Fortunately he was microchipped. They called the owner and were going to charge him like $100 if they had to check him into the shelter, so I talked to him on the phone and told him I would deliver the dog to their house. They were a couple of Okies from the Stokies, never really said thank you and just asked if I saw another one, as his brother got out also. I have to admit that dog looked like he wanted to come back with me. I told my client it's a good thing my wife wasn't around when I found him because those guys would have never got him back.

We all love man's best friend. I couldn't drive away knowing that trusting animal that just walks in front of cars would probably get killed. Think many here would have done the same.

Good story BFL

Our mutt cost us about the same VD, almost 7 years ago now. But he came with all his shots, a chip, and was already neutered. The shelter was using a Little Rascals theme at the time, his name was Spanky which we changed to Kemba. Did your daughter from NJ move to WA, or are you blessed with multiple girls?

Think you might have me confused with another client. My daughter's in North Carolina (only one). Son's still in Communist country.

She moved back to Seattle...she has made the move between NY/Sea three times in the past five years....plus she travels a lot for her tattoo business...

Wow, it takes a giant self-righteous sanctimonious d-bag to create a whole thread honoring himself over something anyone else would've done. Similar to Orange d-bag patting himself on the back for instituting social distancing thus saving lives

No, you're suppose to do the right thing, moron.

And you're 1,500 miles from both.

If it wasn't for my business and my kids and UConn basketball, I'd join you in a heartbeat
