Best Negative Opinion Investments?

If one was to think we are going to have continued pain (company bankruptcy, foreclosure, debt default, record unemployment, fed state local finances collapsing) what's a good negative opinion investment? We all know gold already. No bulls here..and please don't turn this into a politics thread.

There are many battered oil, oil related stocks out there.

Oil will be needed for many decades to come, so it will rebound.

REITs are battered. If you know what you are doing (and I dont), you might be able to find a good deal or two

12 month CDs are paying over 1.5%. That beats negative by a good amount.
