Over in the saints game with Jamies Winston at QB & anyone who is playing the Rams ... are going to be the lynch pin in my 10 point 3 team teasers all of next season , He now has thrown 121 touchdowns but has also tossed 88 interceptions. His 30 picks this season set a career worst, shattering his previous mark of 18 interceptions in 2016.
I think Winston is a bum, and no way anyone should invest in him for 4 years, but for $1.7M base with $4M+ if incentives are met, he is good insurance for Brees. He can throw the ball!
But again, no one should have any confidence in him as a starter again, ever. I honestly thought some fool would lob him a 3 year deal, $45M ($20M guaranteed), something like that...
(and YES TB was a great "over" bet with him!)
Chase Daniel should write a book on the subject... he has been a backup for a long time, making millions a year, and he won't be punchy when he hits his 60's.
I was sure Winston was going to be really good. Guess not. He obviously isn't very smart. Seemed to have football smarts though. In college he was accurate, football smart, clutch...made good decisions. Not sure exactly what happened.
Jameis gets a coach who will teach him to play the position. Payton will get him on field at minimum for some deep shots.
Brees is old with a weak arm and could easily miss time again.
I only remember Hill being carted off field in college every season. There is no way he will hold up as a full time qb. Having Winston is a steal for Payton.
