They tell me UCLA was really good at one point in time - but that shit must have been a long ass time ago

Yes it was,and I am still crying about this game! UCLA's two big streaks came to an end during the 1973–1974 season. In January, the winning streak stopped at 88 games when Digger Phelps's Notre Dame squad upended the Bruins 71–70 in South Bend. I remember it well, yes,i am old

The game I'm still crying about, George Fucking Mason. Although 2011 and 2014 have helped me to cope better with that heartbreak

They SHOULD show the 1968-69 UCLA basketball team led by Lew Alcindor (later Kareem Abdul-Jabbar).
The Houston squad led by Elvin Hayes played them in the AstroDome, stopping another long Bruins win
streak with Hayes scoring 29 points in the first half. He finished with 39, including the game clinching
free throws.

The NCAA tourney rematch would go differently. Mike Warren and Lucious Allen spent the entire game
destroying Houston's press and UCLA won 101-69. I'd be surprised if these old relic games aren't being
shown somewhere during this lockdown. They should be.
