the cards have been slow, they've reduced the purses and things are just sort of puddling along after last weekend's festivities.

r1: mazella. yes, she's buy mazel trick and yes, i bet her last time and thought i had the winner at 32 to 1 and yes, there are a bunch of well bred horses in here, but i'm playing her primarily b/c her two main competitors are debut runners-- i refuse to bet first timers routing on dirt. it is one of the most difficult things to do. rings and things and ap adventure are bred to run all day and we'll probably be hearing things from both these fillies down the road, but i'm siding with the experienced mazella, who adds blinkers for robbins.

r5: don't tell wendy. a rather nondescript 25k affair for three year old fillies. most of these will be running in open claiming 12.5k next year, but with the age restriction, they get to run for the bigger purse. 'wendy has run well over the track and should fire her best shot second off the bench for becerra, who is having a huge meet.

r8: flag lady b. for my angel will be tough but 'lady b has some speed and should go better second off the layoff for sadler. i'm guessing she needed her last out and now should have more bottom or foundation sprinting second time. she figures no better than third choice in here, so i'll play her.

that's all folks.
