Exactly.....just saying these players are not gonna do this

Can someone explain what the difference is with MLB and NFL?? Why isn't the NFL having these issues when they will be playing in empty stadiums also? Owners will be losing their ass just like MLB owners. So NFL players will be getting paid full salaries while the owners are losing big money with empty stadiums? Doesn't make sense.....

Not getting paid anything if there are no games

I think he's pretty much saying scrap the season eat the half salary money they would make and not risk catching the virus etc....mentally prepare for next season and get back to full schedule full salaries

If the nfl played without fans this year, the salary cap would drop 20-70 million next yr

Snell is but one of many men who will present an interesting legal/labor conundrum if this season cancelled

He is under contract for $7.6m for 2020 and then a jump to $11.1m for 2021

Many players w similar upward payroll shifts in same time span

Labor/legal question will be raised if 2020 cancelled do the Rays still have to pay him $11.1 in 2021 or would all salaries be backed up a full year to 2020 rates

Amazing an avg salary of 4.4 Million won't do it for these players. The owners are even bigger pricks but give me a break. All these professional athletes are a bunch of pampered babies

The NFL shares more revenue with their national TV contracts. Big name teams, dodgers, yankees, cubs, get good money for local broadcasts but in general more revenue for mlb comes from tix, concessions, parking than it does in the NFL. NFL bread and butter is TV contracts as long games are broadcast they make money

2 Blake Snell quotes:

March 11, 2020 "Coronavirus is overhyped. If I get it, I get it".

May 13, 2020 "just not worth it to play in 2020 for reduced pay".

Blake would be an AWESOME RX poster!!!

It sounded like a Vanilla Ice SNL skit. I was thinking there is no way this cat talks like this in real life.

Haha yeah

Hopefully he does another and wears a gold Mr. T style chain for it, much needed levity

i always side with the players , as. I have had first hand experiance and know what the people involved
in this "game" are really like , but the players need to get on with it and play for the good of the game.

mlb has zero leg to stand on as far as taking a year off.. it cannot afford to be gone for a full calendar year
