Let's not pretend otherwise. Deal with it, make the best of it, stay home if you must, absolutely take protective measures if you're a higher risk demographic but life goes on

Life is for the living

If you're not living, you're already dead

We're not finding a cure, we haven't found one yet for anything in this family. Hell, we can't even cure or prevent the common cold

Have u had face time face with clients?
if not, when do u plan to start?

I have, never really stopped completely although I did slow down for a while.

I was going to try and not have any appointments for two weeks to see my grandchildren, but I learned that seeing them was not going to happen as I would expect and not seeing any clients is impossible for me. Not built that way.

Going to see the grandchildren today. Have to keep my distance, can't hug them, so I'll do just that. Their rules

Saw at least 10 people this past week, those numbers will start climbing dramatically

Most communications and deliveries are still either electronic or mail

Going to restaurants beginning Thursday when they open, will probably eat out 8 times between Thursday and Sunday

Going to my favorite breakfast place Thursday at 7 AM, I saw them setting up tables yesterday, will leave a $ 50 bill for my $ 10 tab

Getting my haircut Friday, probably another $ 50 for a $ 15 cut

Introduced a client that does party rentals, including tents, to a couple of clients that own restaurants and need tents. Win win

That's what rocks my world

Great to see the beaches open in New Jersey in time for Memorial Day....I grew up in South Jersey and hope all goes well.....

Beaches here in Thailand are still closed...which sucks!
But the numbers justify the closing...around 3000 cases and only 55 deaths...
My complex just opened the gym and pool today but with restrictions...

Congrats Willie and kudos for being so generous....

Thailand still closed at the airports for all flights that were supposed to come in...My daughter purchased a ticket in December of last year to be here in Thailand for Father’s Day and her birthday...just got the official word that the ticket was cancelled...shooting for Thanksgiving or XMAS now....life goes on....

The way very good people live their lives. Always thinking of others and how you can help them be a little happier.

You are a GOOD MAN, Willie.

Good for you Willie.

As I've gone through this process, I'm realizing more and more that I simply don't want to surround myself with certain type of people. Like you, I think people should do what they feel comfortable with for both their physical and financial health. This may conflict with my own values and that's OK. But the people I want nothing to do with at this point are those that are judgmental of others and feel the need to invoke their moral superiority when for every point they make, there is an equally valid counterpoint.

A couple of quotes from Sowell come to mind

"Thomas Sowell observed that an elite cadre of Americans, without having been appointed by anyone, declared their superior morality and their critical role in correcting society’s wrongs."

“It is usually futile to try to talk facts and analysis to people who are enjoying a sense of moral superiority in their ignorance.”

I mentioned to you in another post, that I had lunch with a fellow employee the other day. When I got home, my wife saw I was annoyed. She asked what was wrong and I said I just wish I could get the last two hours of my life back.

The guy said he wanted to get together but when I suggested a nice restaurant (even had good patio seating with typically no one there), he said "oh no, I've not feeling that adventurous...take out please". So we end up going for coffee and sitting outside. He then goes on for about 5 minutes on how dangerous the virus is. No matter what results you throw at him, he just keeps saying there's this doctor he knows that can do this more justice than him and if I needed him to explain it to me, he could (eye roll). He's clearly another guy that puts speculation above actual results. Keep in mind, the guy came riding up on a motorcycle with no helmet. And then we were chatting no further than 3 feet apart at the table. Anyone else see the hypocrisy on this one? He also kept commenting on the server and didn't like that she took her mask on and off, depending on if she was inside or outside. I just cut off that part of the conversation since it was clear he was as brainwashed as someone living in a cult and wasn't a big math guy (like most of these useful idiots we have on this site). I paid last time so he picked up the check and didn't give a tip. I went back the next day and gave a generous tip. I won't be getting back together with him anytime soon.

I'm just lucky I live in Williamson County and not Travis. There a distinct difference when you cross the county line and head towards Austin. I notice many more of the type of people Sowell describes the closer I get to Austin (that goes for stores too). I've simply had enough of it. I'll continue to look at results and leave the speculation for those that prefer to let the media do their thinking for them. Our county has 19 deaths out of 590,000 people. My understanding is our city has had 1 out of the nearly 50,000 people that live here. If those numbers alarm people, I encourage they put their Hazmat suits on and enjoy their life that way.

Yes, we are reopening.

Every day, hospitalizations are declining

Every day, better news on sports being played

Every day, somebody dies

And every day, someone cheering for the virus shows his or her true colors

By middle to end of July, the virus will be long gone......but the left-wing media will still try & scare people.

People are out shopping, swimming, etc.....oh, & protesting, rioting, looting, & let's not forget the burning down of cars & buildings.

I agree with those, but during this pandemic, how many have noticed they have been spending way over what you normally spent before this virus hit

And the inconvenience we had to go through,..adding how many people lost jobs etc,you know the rest

My income actually doubled since mid March and I don't think I spent any more (especially with gas prices being so low). However, as soon as we get completely opened back up, I will probably drop to roughly 60% of what it was prior to the shutdown.

I'm with BFL on this one

I'm making more money because of all the pandemic paperwork, but I can't spend it.

Even though I'm ordering out a lot, we're NOT drinking so even my dining out tab is decreasing
