Another article with two sides of a story, yet you just go with the side that favors your opinion.

You are the Hypocrite of all Hypocrites.

I got some of my own news for you, no ones gives a shit if some person from the health department in Florida gets axed.

Republicans be the big bad boogieman to Mob @)

Wondered when someone would bring this up.

They wanted her to lie in order to further encourage everyone that things should open back up.

Yeah I’m sure they are looking for the perfect balance.......

Ive already explained like 7 times why they aren’t fudging the numbers.

Now they definitely are. At least in Republican states.

very funny these articles refer to her as "The Scientist" ... uh, there is no science in data science...it's a database engineer that works with large amounts of data. used to be called a dbase analyst until they got together to pump up their titles and now, the looney left, are tossing the word "scientist" around because it makes them believe they know what they're talking about. You're taking large sets of data and trying to form correlations and conclusions to help the business. In fact her title was Information Systems Manager but the MSM needs to get the word science in there to make the morons (aka mob and hache) believe she's reputable.

and like 99% of these claims it will turn out she was incredibly shitty at her job and a total pain in the ass and will have nothing to do with being asked to manipulate data.

how the fuck can NPR look themselves in a mirror with this title?

Lmao. Hurt little boy now. I’m well aware what it is. I use something similar to it personally. She’s a data scientist/guru.

I see nothing wrong with calling her a data scientist. And was apparently the best. And they wanted her to manipulate the data.

That simple.

da·ta sci·en·tist

Sounds like a thing to Google.

Still don’t know how you can say anything about a man who’s going through this first hand and has a daughter sick from it. You should be disgusted with yourself. Show some respect.

The word “scientist” doesn’t make me know she’s reputable. The fact they want to manipulate her data and she wouldn’t tells me she is reputable.

Learn.

You’re saying Biden’s going to win? Interesting.

I don’t know though...been hearing people say lately, “Hospitals are getting paid more for each covid death. They are falsifying those numbers. Google it.”

Sounds like a job that everybody is an expert at, no? Maybe you can hire those people and pay them. You know, the needy ones. Since you’re a business owner and let temps work for you. Why not?

How much you paying em?

There is indeed a valid branch of mathematics/statistics and computer science called data science, my company recently hired a few with
MS's in Data Science to work on our artificial intelligence product.

Now, whether or not this woman earned her title in the field, I have no idea.

Some people think that because they can write some Excel macros, or Perl scripts that they can call themselves software engineers
or computer scientists. Those of us who have earned those titles think that is a complete joke.

yeah they invented the title Data Scientist because they didn't want to be Statistical Analysts or Database Analysts anymore. It's manipulating data with a new title that fools nutters into calling them just "scientists". I work with sales reps that sell software to Data Science folks all the time and none of them are a scientist anymore than computer science is a scientist.

the woman in question didn't even have a Data Scientist title … she's an Information Systems Manager which resides in an IT organization. Dumbcunts like Mob get erect when you call someone a Scientist which is exactly why NPR used that headline as "Florida dismisses IT Manager" just doesn't have the same ring.

It's all about the narrative they want to push to make the braindead fall in line. They didn't fire a Covid Scientist they fired an IT Manager

I run the data science department at a large retailer. Have several DS working for me. It is a real field that's more than IT.

Computer Science/IT + Math = Machine Learning
Computer Science/IT + Domain Knowledge = Software Development
Math + Domain Knowledge = Traditional Research
All 3 together = Data Science

To me the scientist part is applicable because you are doing a lot of experimentation. It's more than data piping and data engineering and writing code, it's part art and a lot of experience.

Anyway, carry on, I do agree they hyped the title. Funny they even dropped the 'data' part and just went with "scientist" a few times.

PS which software? Alteryx?

I have a Master's Degree in Computer Science. It's standard usage of the term. I do understand where you are coming from, as calling someone a political scientist to me seems like a misuse of the term. At least with my degree programs, we had to take a ton of courses in the hard sciences. Unlike someone with an MIS degree.

I agree with you 100% that Mob is indeed a dumb cvnt, and the narrative was manipulated just for NPR's dumb-masses like him.

lots of Tableau, Tibco, and SAS in the early days of big data and now smaller players like Sisense, Domo, RapidMiner and Qlik. So many have been bought up by Oracle, Salesforce, Google, etc that it's now more of a subset to a larger platform but some originators still exist like Alteryx. It's crazy how many have gotten scooped up over the past 3 years....

NPR straight-up dropping the "Data" from "Data Scientist" is infuriating...simply trying to get the bait-clickers to think Florida just fired their leading Covid Scientist (not to mention her title was Information Systems Manager)
