Who actually did shut down the country ?

I believe there's some confusion with the shutdown.

I got the impression that Mayors , Governers , and businesses did it all on their own..

I also hear that Trump shut it down , but don't remember him actually making an order like that..I don't remember Trump telling anyone to shut down Conference tournaments or March Madness , NBA or the NHL to shut it down , or for the Players Championship to shut it down after the 1st Rd

What are the facts here ?

every decision was local, which is why every state is different

trump clearly stated on many, many occasions that he is not a federalist and would leave the decisions to close or restrict each state up to their respective governors. that is why these blue coat governors are trying to tank their economies for political reasons. the admin was only providing guidelines to help present all of the metrics required to make an intelligent and rational decision. obviously, the lock downs are now out of the range of rational.

A national shutdown was initially suppose to be for two weeks. Till Easter, remember? Shit was hitting the fan , local hot spot. Then Trump extening till April 30th;

'Trump had suggested reopening the economy by Easter Sunday, but ultimately decided to extend the restrictions until April 30 over fears the coronavirus could spread further.'

CEO's were pleading for guidance . To his credit, he then put it on the govenors, clever

Few countries were prepared like S Korea, Taiwan (both of these countries never shut down , schools open) , or had leaders with brass balls like Sweden. Many just drank the Kool-Aid. What happens in N Italy to happen in say Manitoba, or S Dakota. The Blind leading the Blind..

was watching the golf last Sunday and Tirico was phone interviweing Trump. Trump goes on to say: 'we did the right thing...it would have been 15-20 times worse if we didnt...'

The stuff you list and the businesses around where I am either stayed open, shut down voluntarily, or they were an agreement with government requests to close. Anyone who is blaming Trump and the government is a Liberal who doesn't want to take responsibility for themselves.

my state is open but my county just started phase 1. I actually went out this morning for the first time in 2 months to get food and booze. Felt nice actually

The governors and mayors of these states.

Why in Miami they were still shut down while the rest of Florida was open.
Local officials kept the city shut and is a democrat/communist
