Hanwha Eagles +115 over SK Wyverns

5:30 AM EST. With a 4-16 record, SK has a negative run differential of close to 60. This favorite is a hot mess but they’re favored here for two reasons. First, Hanwha has dropped five straight and secondly, SK’s best pitcher on paper is going. Those two factors provide us with this great opportunity.

Kim Tae-hoon goes for the Wyverns. He is a 10-year vet with a nifty 2.84 ERA so far but he’s also 0-2 because of little run support. His zero wins is not deserving but neither is his ERA, as he has a weak BB/K split of 9/13 over 19 innings. Kim Tae-hoon has been mostly a reliever his entire career. He has only started 17 games over his 10-years at this level so the toll of pitching deep into games is 100% going to catch up to him. Aside from that, he pitches for the worst team in the KBO.

Before its five game losing streak to two pretty damn good teams, Hanwha was 7-9 with some good wins to back it up. After playing the Dinos and LG, they take a big step down in class here for the opener of this series. The Eagles will send 24-year old Kim Min-woo to the mound and he, too, is winless, and he, too, also has a strong ERA (2.25). The difference is that Kim Min’s ERA is legit. Dude has 25 K’s in 24 innings while allowing a measly 13 hits. This is without question the bargain of the day and we have to try and take advantage of a bad line posted by oddsmakers. Wrong side favored.
