There’s a lot of uncertainty surrounding the 2020 NFL season, but the league is planning to host games as normal. The NFL is currently operating as if stadiums will be packed with fans once the 2020 season gets underway, according to NBC Sports Washington.

NFL EVP of Football Operations Troy Vincent made those comments while appearing on The Team 980 on Friday. Vincent said the league is planning for stadiums to be at full capacity, but admits that could change.

Here’s what Vincent said via NBC Sports Washington:

“We are planning to have full stadiums until the medical community tells us otherwise," NFL EVP of Football Operations Troy Vincent said on "The Brian Mitchell Show" on The Team 980 on Friday. "Now remember when we're talking -- we're talking about September, August, September. So there's a lot that can happen here. So we're planning for full stadiums.”

While the league currently expects full stadiums, Vincent makes it clear they won’t force the issue. If the medical community determines it’s not safe to have a large group of people gathered together in a stadium amid coronavirus, the league will listen. Vincent admits the league already has separate plans in case stadiums can only be half full.

It’s unclear whether fans will be allowed to attend NFL games at all. A number of states have discouraged mass gatherings. Many of those recommendations involve groups much, much smaller than you would expect at a football game. It’s possible things change by the time NFL games are being played, but it’s impossible to know whether that will be the case.

At least one NFL team is being cautious regarding ticket sales. The Pittsburgh Steelers are making 50 percent of their tickets available to fans just in case social-distancing restrictions remain in place in August.

Being cautious isn’t the worst idea right now. While the NFL expects full stadiums in 2020, the league is wise to have contingency plans in place in case it doesn’t happen.

Does anyone really believe the owners are willing to play the games without fans and lose all that revenue?

No way there are full stands. Not even partial.
One vendor in the stands gets the phony virus, there will be 1,000 news stories saying the whole shebang should be shut down.
If NHL or MLB has a season by the time the NFL season is supposed to start the NFL will be power-media stopped before they start.
The Dems and their owned media will not allow it, even though the virus is just a threat to >65 with underlying. The lockdowns should stop, but they will be extended.
Big Brother..!

Im not buying this Serbone.......that's another 3 months away.......imo, the virus will be long gone. Also, people are flocking to the beaches in open states now in May, just wait until July 4th (falls on Saturday this year) weekend.......people are gonna be out in full force & by Labor Day, it's gonna be nuts with people everywhere

Will they still be doing social distancing everywhere? They will try, but it won't get anywhere........

Use common sense computer troll. The season is in September. They are being optimistic. Because they are a business they don’t want to dismiss the idea of possibly doing 25% capacity.

If you have been listening, there is a 0% chance we will have full stadiums by the start of football. 0% chance.

If we were, then why not have college football too? Lmfao. Because it’s not realistic.

Have to think. Can’t be a sheep and follow the angry parrot posters here

Yup. My point exactly. The computer troll is in full effect. They complain about X-Files so this clown can post meaningless garbage like this.

You notice NO ONE else is reporting this besides some loser yahoo reporter.

Here comes some reputation points to you for having common sense.

I played in a pool tournament last night - the balls were cleaned after every match - every table is wiped down after every mask - all for show because less that 5 people had a mask on out of about 75 people - a lot of people are just fed up and dont give a fuck any more - they'd rather take the risk of getting the corona flu versus hiding in the closet - gonna be interesting to see how much this thing spreads as the world says fuck it
