Looking forward to hearing about how it goes and hopefully any glitches are cleaned up by the time I get there in July.

Wife is heading to Green Valley Ranch tomorrow. Everyone is going through the heat cameras rather than initially having their temp taken. Downtown is, for the most part, opening at midnight tonight which should be very convenient for the just getting started rioters and thugs.

Oh shit...LOL. That's not a smart way to start things.

I was going to el cortez at midnight but I just found out that the Silverton is also opening at midnight. Alot closer to my house and alot less potential drama. I'm sure there wont be much to report on that isnt already expected..long lines..heat check..wear a mask at all times..partitions on all table games..every other machine turned off...I have better luck downtown but Silverton is ok

Like the steakhouse and the Mexican place at the Silverton, but the VP odds are terrible. We used to go to the M alot, but now spend most time at Southpoint and GVR. Silverton gives us some decent deals via mail though. Haven't been downtown in years and especially no reason to go down there now. Will probably check out the Circa when it opens.

Pretty sure the Rivera space will be used to expand the convention center complex. Part of that probably includes space for the underground people mover that Musk is building. More importantly, a pitcher of Cadillac margaritas is only about $20 at Mi Casa.

How’d blackjack look? Did you look at the poker room? Any plastic dividers between players?

Another winning night downtown this time ..el cortez did not do any temperature check on entry..no mask required at all casinos in Las vegas I'm hearing..only the staff is wearing masks..the D has a device that you put your wrist up to and it gives your temperature..police presence outside el cortez for the whole 4 hours I was downtown...ID required to enter the major part of Fremont street with metal detectors set up..did not see any unruly groups of people...will look more closely at the blackjack table set ups next time and ask my poker playing friend if she knows anything about this, as I've only noticed poker games at a few places in the past .

I was watching footage of D on CNBC. Just crazy. People on top of each other. No social distancing at the bars or the slots. Many not wearing masks. If all America was like that we would be totally back to normal.

Lots of stories in the LV Review Journal today if you want to access online. Among them, lines at every casino to get in. About 25% of customers are wearing masks. Doesn't appear to be anyone counting how many people can enter. Among people interviewed, more concern about the flight in than gambling in the casino. Negative comments about the buffets being closed. Strip was a lot slower than downtown or local casinos with some people citing the riots. BTW...very limited protests yesterday as alot of those people are probably going back to work plus it was 107 out.

Orleans is the only poker room open that I know of right now. Tables were in full use with 5 players max allowed. I haven't seen partitions anywhere and blackjack looks to be 3 player max everywhere. Harrah's is the only place I've experienced where a mask is required while at the table games.

What this tells me is that maybe more people are ready to get out and start living again than I was thinking

Reopening won't mean a resurgence unless people participate

As always, we the people make things happen

Pools were packed. The Harrahs property opened earlier than planned so that probably is a good sign. Local casinos very busy and no weekend glitches reported re: social distancing although every story on local newscasts depicted the majority of people without masks and pretty close together. Weather is in the 80's which is very, very unusual. Belmont in a couple weeks will probably be the first big, shared sportsbook event. Lots of low pricing on hotel rooms with no parking fees. Still resort fees at most locations. Usually do not recommend staying on the strip, but now is probably the best time to do so given the value pricing plus it won't be as crowded. If you do, don't get a car.
