Bill O’Brien has no problem with his players taking a knee for the national anthem. In fact, he will join them in protesting racial injustice and police brutality.
“Yeah, I’ll take a knee. I’m all for it,” O’Brien told John McClain of the Houston Chronicle. “The players have a right to protest, a right to be heard and a right to be who they are. They’re not taking a knee because they’re against our flag. They’re taking a knee because they haven’t been treated equally in this country for over 400 years.”
The Texans’ coach, who doubles as the General Manager, decided the time was right to speak up about his feelings and the team’s stance. Team chairman Cal McNair isn’t sitting quietly either, having participated in conversations with players and promising to do whatever he can to help.
“When you think about how big the issue is, if we can help make a little change in Houston, maybe it’ll be like a pebble in the pond that creates a ripple,” McNair told McClain. “What happened to George Floyd brought to life something that’s bigger than football, and you can’t ignore it. We felt like we couldn’t stay silent. We felt like we had to say and do something. We want to help make changes.“This is the right thing to do, and I think our players recognize that. We want to support our players and our community. We’re all in this boat together.”

It is hilarious to hear how easily offended some Liberal snowflakes are about this stuff. Maybe they'll find a safe space when they watch TV in Septmeber.

If anyone thinks this effects what happens on the field, enjoy all the money you'll win better on their games.

That's why he'll never be a Bill Belichick

He's stupid and weak

The players have been mistreated for over four hundred years. Remember, he's talking about 20 something year olds living the dream

Priceless

The Hopkins trade was so bad the Madden video game rejected the trade in franchise mode due to it being too lopsided and not realistic .

Absolutely retarded

How about beating the Chiefs by 24-7 about halfway through the 2nd quarter and calling a fake punt on 4th and 4 from your own 33? Game, set, match, he gave KC the ball, the momentum, the game. Maybe the worst call in NFL post season history. The call that proved the man is NOT ready for prime time, the game was too big for him.

Then he trades a franchise WR for a broken down RB, I don't think Belichick would trade a 4th round draft pick for Johnson

Can I get a bet on the man being fired?

Being not a very good coach/GM he needs to appease and try to get the players to like him so he can try to keep his job.

No different than businesses supporting BLM. He is trying to save his ass and keep harmony

Another thing is they can take knees in protest but once they have a platform not many of these people actually do anything to try and make any change happen
just a bunch of empty suits taking a knee

They said that Hopkins is at the precipice of an epic slide starting right now so they are selling to avoid his huge drop off
His numbers struggled because the play calling blew and the QB was afraid to try and get the ball to Hopkins....

Atrocious talent evaluation and then trading him for nothing...

IMO there are a couple of coaches that match up with Belichick. Lombardi and Knoll.
What sets Belichick apart is he managed to do it in the era of free agency.

O'Brien is weak, he is an idiot.

If they all kneel as a team every game and thus disrespect our flag, our military, our Republic... why would any good American, any patriot, watch an NFL game, ever? Tell me.
