Ohio State creates "Buckeye Pledge" WAIVER for Coronavirus

How clever! Ohio State University had all athletes sign a "pledge". Remember the hoopla the media had for the Trump campaign over the upcoming Tulsa rally and requiring rally goers to sign a waiver that they wouldn't sue if the contracted the virus? Well, Ohio State has basically acomplished the same thing by not being so straight forward and creating "The Buckeye Pledge".

[COLOR=rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.72)]According to a report by The Columbus Dispatch, Ohio State student-athletes were required to sign "the Buckeye Pledge", which asked them to take responsibility for their health and the well-being of their community.[/COLOR][COLOR=rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.72)] The document also warned athletes that although the university is following the coronavirus guidelines issued by the CDC and other experts to reduce the spread of infection, I can never be completely shielded from all risk of illness caused by COVID-19 or other infections.[/COLOR][COLOR=rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.72)]In accordance with the Buckeye Pledge, Ohio State student-athletes must adhere to the following protocols: [/COLOR][COLOR=rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.72)]· submit to CoVID-19 testing[/COLOR][COLOR=rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.72)]· report exposure to COVID-19[/COLOR][COLOR=rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.72)]· disclose symptoms of the virus, including a fever of 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit or higher[/COLOR][COLOR=rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.72)]· remain home if they feel sick

Athletic Director Gene Smith says the signed pledge, signed by athletes and their parents, is intended more for educational purposes than for it's liability, that's way it is called a pledge.

Also, Ohio State WILL NOT share coronavirus information concerning it's athletes.

Michigan AD has said that Michigan athletes will not be required to sign any waivers or forms concerning coronavirus. Athletes will get instructions and procedures that will require the usual check box to acknowledge it has been received. Any violations of COVID procedures will be treated like a team rule violation.
Two of the 221 Michigan athletes has tested positive for coronavirus. Unknown which sport they participate in.
Michigan AD has also said Michigan WILL NOT use any "bubble approach" and confine their players to hotels, etc.

Ohio State has suspended all athletic activity due to COVID although they won't give any numbers out. Apparently signing all those pledges didn't work.

Statue-less Christopher Columbus Ohio is in Franklin County which has just over 10,000 active COVID cases out of the population of 1.3 million.
