As novel coronavirus caseloads continue to surge across the South and West, officials are hoping that mandatory mask-wearing can stop a rapidly spiraling outbreak. On Wednesday, Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey (R) reversed his previous stance and authorized local governments to require face coverings in public, while Oregon Gov. Kate Brown (D) mandated masks for more than half her state’s population. Several Southern cities — including Memphis; Montgomery, Ala.; and Fayetteville, Ark. — have also made masks compulsory in recent days.

Masks do not stop the spread of a virus. Politicians really need to get educated, talk with the people who do this for a living
not their public health officials

Lots of questions concerning this. How many people actually died as these cases went up? How well equipped and staffed are the hospitals in Arizona? Arizona is a heavy smoker state. Maybe getting this flu is triggering complications?

This is an isolated case and the governor did what he had to do. Its certainly not a set back for other states.

I just found this. 19 days straight in Arizona! And suddenly younger people are pushing up the covid numbers. what a complete joke. the leftie media only blames the restaurants and bars and people enjoying life as the sole cause of the rising numbers yet its the rioters breaking all the rules. the governor scaled back only because of this protest crap.

The only stat that matters is hospitalizations. Every person going back to work gets tested...some of those tests will be positive. The media continues to report the number of cases rather than the rate. Their job is to keep us all scared and Mango has certainly retreated back under his mother's bed. Arizona has had more hospital admissions for the virus...that is serious. The rise in cases for 21 other states is due to increased testing.

what mongo and his blind squirrels dont see or intentionally leave out is that each state is different. New York is not New Mexico. You live in AZ so you can help me with your situation. In Wisconsin where their supreme court overruled the communist governor and opened the state their numbers are actually going down. Florida beaches are open but their numbers are consistent and its not causing a problem. So some questions about AZ if I may

1- What is the death rate at the moment? Has it also gone up? We don't get that info from MSM.
2- What is the average age of death DUE TO COMPLICATIONS OF this flu? Again we rarely get this number and its never tagged with DUE TO COMPLICATIONS OF.
3- Testing in my state is now something you can just walk in and get. How easy is it in AZ. I read where a sheriff who wasn't concerned about it now has it. So what? He didn't even know. Now he has to quarantine because fragile snowflakes are afraid he might give it to them.
