While it’s the logical step to take for the UK and Western Europe - the quarantining/banning of U.S. visitors - America is hardly where the current Covid 19 action is occurring. Despite the fact that the Trump-Virus still leads the world in infections and deaths, the U.S. is a safer place to be than a number of other countries, especially S. Africa, where the Coronavirus is burning hot and fast.

(I’ve used a cut-off number of 100,000 infections for the chart below; and, there are some anomalous numbers included. Namely, Saudi Arabia’s low number of deaths vs the high number of infections, a ratio similar to Russia’s, which is highly suspect. Also, France, where it seems basic math education has failed the French big time, as France’s total number of infections actually decreases, from time to time.)
