As concerns over the capacity of hospitals resurface amid surging Covid-19 cases, two emergency room doctors say they worry about where the pandemic could take them next.

Dr. Mina Tran, an emergency room doctor in Texas, said 70 to 80% of her patients have been admitted with upper respiratory or coronavirus complaints.

In Arizona, which saw its lowest-ever number of available ICU beds Tuesday, Dr. Murtaza Akhter told Lemon so many patients are coming in that he is already having to make tough decisions over resources.

So what will happen here is that they will minimize elective surgeries in order for COVID patients so more beds will be available.

This sucks, but was expected

Hospitals go on diversion all the time because the ED is overloaded. The ED is overloaded because they are holding patients that need beds. People who never work in a hospital have no idea of the challenges of patient throughput. You can always find a lot of docs who will complain about everything and even more who are attracted to the limelight. The other thing that is easy to find are sensational headlines in the MSM. Knight you are right about limiting elective surgeries as a strategy.

My dad's on staff at the UTSA Health Science Center and he said the hospital is indeed full and they've taken half the children's hospital for Covid patients or future patients - but still very few people are actually dying - bottom line is if you are very old or immunosuppressed you need to be very cautious - if you are not, youre probably better off living your normal life outside of a Vegas night club

Like I've said, before these pandemics happen, the medical leaders boast about how much they train & are prepared for such disasters.

We've seen since the beginning of Covid that was all BS and they had?have no clue.
