I’ll say 2 picks as well -
Please PM your responses
Has everyone responded? Games are tomorrow at noon so hopefully we can get this wrapped up today
Leaving it at one
Next year I'm going to make two picks mandatory beginning with the playoffs, maybe even as early as week 16 or something.
But the truth is that this is not an issue most years. Three years ago it was, then again this year, but not for any other year of this contest. Although last year several people split the pot
Good idea
So basically we just make one pick- where do we submit these picks?
Same place, on Yahoo
On their site, our contest runs through the playoffs. I'm just ending it after next weekend. So officially, there are two weeks left
The two people with 1 strike both picked TB yesterday
The four people with no strikes are all on the Saints
If the Bears win, we may just crown a champion next week afterall
Go bears!!!!
oh never mind
At least 4 people are getting money, they can't be eliminated
Moving on to the final week of this contest
4 unbeaten teams
2 once beaten teams
20 eliminations
Last unbeaten positions each worth $ 325
After that, each strike worth $ 1,170
If it finishes as is
4 unbeaten teams win $ 2,665
2 once beaten teams win $ 1,170
New proposal to continue contest after this weekend
1) Last unbeaten money gets paid, presently worth $ 325 per team
2) Each strike gets paid $ 1,000, presently worth $ 1,170
3) Presently there are 10 strikes remaining, so that means $ 1,700 remains in the pool until we crown a champion (or not)
4) If strikes are earned this weekend, more money goes into the jackpot since less money would be paid out for the $ 1,000 per strike
5) Here's the beauty, no problem if someone wants out, they get paid and the pool is adjusted accordingly with the exact same rule. Everyone else gets $ 1,000 per strike, the rest goes into the ongoing contest
PLEASE RESPOND IN THIS THREAD BEFORE 4:35 pm SATURDAY 1/16/2021
Anyone who does not respond is assumed to be out and will be paid whatever he or she has coming to them
I'm in the expanded playoff contest (gee, thanks Captain Obvious)
Just remember, this becomes more of a crap shoot after this weekend, you may have used the surviving teams and you can get fucked heading into the SB
So it becomes less of a skills game and more about luck. Or we may all just run out of teams and wind up splitting the pot anyhow
I'd be in, but sounds more complicated to select a team going forward
I'm even in for selecting two teams this weekend
It is more complicated, that's why we're paying out everyone who has money coming and playing for much smaller balance for the remainder of the contest. Winning this weekend is far more important
I tried the two strike option twice, it failed, nothing changed since then. It remains 1 strike this weekend with changes coming next year. Two strikes beginning in the playoffs, which will only run for the first two weekends like this year.
Curt is in, waiting on three

The proposal can be summarized as follows
1) Last unbeaten teams split $ 1,300, as always
2) Each remaining strike gets paid $ 1,000. So if you have zero strikes, you get $ 2,000 and if you have one strike you get $ 1,000
3) the balance, which would be $ 1,700 as of this moment, stays in the contest and we continue the contest through the playoffs (warning, this can get funky, but we're all in the same boat and most of the prize money will have been paid out)
4) If somebody wants out and / or doesn't respond, they get paid in full and the prize pool is adjusted accordingly
I’m in Willie - as long as it’s just some action on the game, it will be fun
I'm making another minor tweak to the expanded playoff pool. Any remaining strike gets paid $ 1,100, up from $ 1,000. That means everyone is contributing $ 70 per strike and the prize pool is currently $ 700
I'm going to cap the expanded playoff prize pool to $1,500. Anything above that will be paid to remaining participants prorated based on their remaining strikes (as always)
I'm doing that because it's possible that there are six strikes this weekend, and I don't want the expanded playoff prize pool to grow by $ 6,600. That's not my intent
Right now we have three people in and three who haven't responded. If we have less than six in, the expanded playoff prize pool decreases accordingly
It's all simple math, nobody will get cheated![]()
i don't understand but im in
