    Run on Yahoo
Pick one outright winner per week
You're eliminated after your second loss
Can't pick the same team twice

Last year we had 30 entries, $ 15,000 in prizes with a 100% timely payout for the sixth consecutive year

Take a chance at some serious money

If we have < 20 teams

Last unbeaten Team Wins $ 1,000

    Second Place Wins $ 500
    First Place wins the balance

Of course, once it gets down to 2 (or a few), remaining participants can split the pot any way they unanimously agree to (one objection from remaining participants, prize distributions will NOT be changed)

If we get to 20 participants, the payout will be

    First place $ 7,500
    Last unbeaten $ 1,000
    2nd place $ 1,000 ($500 for < 20 entries)
    3rd place $ 500 (no payout for < 20 entries)

If we have > 20 entries, the payouts will be the 20 team payout plus the additional funds allocated as follows

    First place 75%
    Last unbeaten 10%
    2nd place 10%
    3rd place 5%

If our Founding Fathers ever saw modern day democrats in their future, they'd remain loyal to the crown. We'd still be the British Colonies, no joke.

Once Yahoo sets up their Survival Football contest, I will send out invitations to all 2019 participants (I think )

New participants will have to PM be their e-mail address

This contest is run by Willie99. TheRx is not associated with this in any way, shape or form. They're not responsible financially, they don't endorse the contest, they won't settle disputes.

If you join this contest, you're trusting Willie99 to hold your funds and disburse the winnings, and nobody else.

100% of proceeds are disbursed to the winners. There is no vig, no processing fees, no management fees, no costs whatsoever (unless Yahoo decides to start charging a fee, but it's been free thus far)

Might get in since I don't see myself going to LV for SC sign up. What's the deadline to sign up and send funds?

Usually 11:00 AM EST on the first Sunday of the year

I don't want people to send me money two soon, that last 10 to 14 days is fine if only to keep me from getting bombarded

Willie, per chance season gets started but does not finish. Are there any contingency plans for the contest in place for this? I think NFL will move forward, but I truly believe a lot will be based on how the other 3 sports start and finish. Having sports start this week gives somewhat a buffer zone on how to handle situations as they arise if they do at all....

If the season ends in three weeks or less, full refunds

If the season ends after 4 weeks, refunds prorated based on remaining strikes

For example, let's assume there are 30 participants and thus 60 strikes to begin the season. The season ends after week 5, and there are 50 strikes remaining.

    $ 15,000 / 50 strikes = $ 300 per strike

If you have two strikes left, you get $ 600

If you have 1 strike left, you get $ 300

If you already lost two games, you get $ 0

I just made this up in the last 4 minutes. The strike concept will absolutely be used, what week it goes into effect can be discussed but Lord Willie gets final say (and it will be decided before the season begins so everyone knows the rules)

I'm thinking we could use the prorated strike system beginning with week 1, or after 4 weeks

    COVID-19 Special Rules

    1) If the season ends before 5 weeks are played, everyone gets a full refund

    2) If 5 weeks are played but the season is NOT completed, then both of the following will apply
    (A) Unbeaten teams split the last unbeaten prize money
    (B) All remaining participants split the remaining pool based on strikes remaining. For example, if there are 39 total strikes remaining, anyone with no strikes (read losses) will get 2/39 times total prize money (sans the last unbeaten prize money) and teams with one strike get 1/39 of the pool. Teams that already lost two games are shit out of luck.

    3) If a game is cancelled and a player took one of the teams, that or those players will be required to make two picks the very next week. I'm not sure Yahoo will accommodate this, I have asked them to make this change, but if they can't then I'll track the second pick in this thread. I don't expect this to be an issue, since it would mean a game was cancelled at the last minute.

    4) If one or multiple games are cancelled in one week and then the season is cancelled before any player can make the same number of picks as the other participants, then the standings will revert back to the last "fully completed" week.

    5) If the contest runs into the playoffs, be it by natural causes or COVID related, then;
    (A) All teams are once again available to all remaining players
    (B) The contest will run as long as there are 4 playoff games being played during any given week (traditionally the Wildcard round followed by the 1st round of the playoffs) After that, playoff survivor gets pretty fucked up

As always, with unanimous consent of all remaining teams, the prize money can be disbursed in any manner you so choose

I don't anticipate we'll need these special rules, but it's better to put them in place now just in case.

If anyone can think of something I may have overlooked, please let me know
