this news would have been a big deal to me about 10 years ago. loved the team and watched them religiously. now i almost dont care, the team could benefit from a total re haul but that would need to start at the top with Snyder. the organization is an embarrassment regardless of the name, go ahead and change it. i havnt had any emotion towards this team in a long time.

They better use something strong and very patriotic to offset their fan's anger for this disgraceful cave in to the threats of the fruit lefty corporations and the mob. The vast majority wanted to keep the name.

Clearly you don’t get it. The name was very offensive to Native Americans. I was born in Hong Kong and if a team was named the YellowMen with an Asian face logo I’d be pretty offended. How would you feel if they called the team the Washington White Trash or Crackas? Dignity? The organization has been one of the worst run in all of professional sports in past 20 years.
Except surveys of Native Americans like the symbolism of that logo. Tough warriors.

Only those who love to decide what offends whom are offended. The rest of us, including Native Americans, are fine with that logo.
