Pens vs Flyers 4pm
Leafs vs Habs 8pm
Oilers vs Flames 10:30pm

Penguins news for today:
  • Crosby highly unlikely to play (80%+ out)
  • Guentzel returns for 1st game in 2020 (sweet!)
  • Murray in goal for first half of game, Jarry for 2nd half
  • Pens only game before play-in starts on Saturday so should be taking it seriously

Pens likely lines:
1st Zucker-Malkin-Rust
2nd Guentzel-Rodrigues-Sheary
3rd Marleau-McCann-Hornqvist
4th Aston-Reese Blueger Tanev

The two players who have stood out most in training camp are 40YO Marleau and 23YO Jared McCann who are on 3rd line together with Horny. In a 5-2 intrasquad game last Thursday this line scored 4 goals in the 3rd period to come back from a 0-2 deficit and win 5-2. If Couturier's line shuts down Geno's then look for the Pens' 3rd line to be their main offense

I dont follow NHL that much but enjoy betting on it.

Is it every team (for those still playing) playing 1 preseason game?

Then playoffs start for some teams on saturday and seeding game for others along with other playoff games on sunday?

Betting on playoff hockey is FUN

yeah every team 1 sanctioned exhibition game this week and then play-in and seeding games start this weekend.

teams seeded 1-4 in each conference will not start playoofs until the "play-in" series (best of 5) are complete but will play for seeding. So while Pens and Habs will play exhibition games tonight they have a real playoff game on Saturday while the Leafs and Flyers will play for seeding but are already guaranteed a best-of-7 conference quarterfinal. So theoretically the Pens and Habs should use tonight as a true final tuneup b4 the playoffs start while Leafs and Flyers won't start their playoffs for a few weeks but will get 3 round robin "seeding games" to prepare for the playoffs

the bullshit is that a team like Boston worked themselves into an 8-pt conference lead and can end up as a 4-seed and play the Pens as a 5-seed (yes I'm assuming PITT blows MTL away). But it helps a team like Dallas that had NO SHOT at top seed in West and now just needs to win a 3-game round robin to play the worst team that emerges from the play-ins

so wide open, just nuts. No home ice advantage. Those teams that were playing great, momentum , ...all gone. Best of 5? a goalie can steal a series .

Leafs certainly benefit: #1 defensemen Reilly is now healthy. Tavares was playing through a nagging injury, he's now healthy. They have Mikheyev back.......................... They brought up OHL sensation Nicholas Robertson up for tonights game Vs Les Canadiens, looking forward to watching him.

what happens if a player tests positive for covid? he's out? ....can you imagine McDavid testing positive before Game 5 of the first round? or 3-5 players on a team ?

What is Crosby's health issue?
tweaked something in the scrimmage 2 weeks ago but looked fine on Tuesday and played nearly 20 minutes and took a bunch of hits and shoves. Played more minutes that any forward on either team

Pens looked pretty good...second line couldn't get going at all and power play sucked but 1st/3rd/4th lines looked real good.

Geno (2nd line) and his line sucked on both ends in first two periods before waking up in 3rd. His giveaway which ended as a Flyers goal was something you see when 5th graders play so glad he got that out of his system.

Really pumped about them with a healthy Guenztel, a banging 4th line, and a really strong 3rd line. But Murray vs Jarry could become an issue

only new injury concern is Dumolin who took a slapshot off the ankle he had surgery on in December...
