Just returned from a quick 4 day trip. Stayed at the Paris. Few observations.

1. Pool was never accessible. Due to social distancing, only a limited amount of guests could enter the pool. They created a waiting list, then a virtual waiting list to make the main waiting list. They charged $75.00 to have a lounge chair. CHARGING FOR A LOUNGE CHAIR?!! So basically if we don't pay for one, then we just throw our belongings to the ground? No place to lay out? If you leave the pool area, you lose your spot, and the next in line is admitted. You got back to the line. No exceptions. During our stay we never were able to access the pool area in 3 days. I'M BEING CHARGED $40 A DAY FOR A RESORT FEE FOR FUCKSAKE! We visited with friends staying at The Orleans. No restrictions we walked right in and joined them. What the fuck is that?

2. Only bars open were bars that were in the restaurants, lounges (high demand waiting list), or via cocktail waitresses which were sparse and damn near invisible. They hardly maid the rounds on the floor.

3. Hardly anything is open.

One word to describe my visit? Inconsistent. Strip malls are wide open and indoor seating for various restaurants. But not all restaurants are open within the casinos. Don't get what the difference is. On top of which, some wears masks, some dont. Even though the hotels require them upon entry. Don't get the what the hell that was about.

We just returned to a 7 day trip in the US Virgin Islands. Restaurants are open (while applying social distancing rules), pool at our resort was wide open. Bars on property open for to go orders only. At least you can order a drink! A completely stark difference.

My opinion, don't bother going to Vegas in the near future. It sucks. As far as gaming. I can get the same experience at the local casinos in my home state.

Oh yea. Ride sharing availability is a joke too. Drivers are limited. They're too busy earning more in unemployment benefits than what they make driving. You're stuck paying regular fare for a taxi. Well I guess this helps them so I won't complain as much.

Heartbreaking story 3Peat, sad to hear. The $ 75 for a chair is criminal. I'll take your advice and avoid Vegas for the time being. Especially the Paris, where I tend to stay because they give me free rooms.

Anyon
e know about pool access or fees at other resorts?

Actually spent two days at Paris last week myself. Everything stated is true although the $75 at the pool was for a daybed which is pretty standard. All of the casino pools are packed on the strip...Orleans is open for a reason, but nothing wrong with that. Probably should mention no housekeeping services for the rooms either. I wouldn't recommend to my friends that they come right now especially if they have to pay for rooms.

Aria is great, but I wouldn't pay that rate when so many of the amenities are "turned off." That ranges from pool access to the bars and from housekeeping to getting through the lobby unencumbered. You probably have some favorite places to eat so you might not only check to see if they are open or not, but also what nights they are open. Cosmo, for instance, has many outlets open, but early/mid week the choices are more limited. Have a good time.

Would have been surprised to read anything different about current Vegas conditions.

Please do. The updates on current situations are helpful to all.

I agree with Bob on paying that rate, but I realize you're only there overnight. I doubt I would go back in September if I didn't have a comp. I also question how ridiculous it is to have to pay a resort fee at this point. It's like you're paying for a phone in your room and internet access (most people don't need either). I'm pretty sure most of the gyms are closed. Most people are complaining about the pools (I'm not a pool guy but will check them out since I didn't include it in either review I did). I think the "no housekeeping" thing might be a Caesars thing (I had housekeeping at the Palazzo). And parking is free everywhere right now. Like 3peet, my biggest source of frustration were the inconsistencies. It's annoying if you're playing by the rules and half the people are not (and the casino isn't enforcing it).

Here's another thing that was just as important that hit me in retrospect. The clientele isn't there. The Vegas strip doesn't feel the same. Walking the strip at night? We went to check out the Bellagio Fountain walking from the Paris. Just a walk across the street. Fuggetabouit At night, nothing but drug addicts, homeless, and shaddy people. Looks like an abandoned city and the only ones left are the junkies and zombies. And the other side of the clientele? It's the people spending their $600 unemployment check. Rates are cheap so it brings in the people who would pay that rate. They probably paid $19 a night to stay at Circus Circus and head over to the Bellagio and ruin the view. Hey in my single days, a group of ho's walking thru the lobby with a thong, and nipple covers would actually be cool to see. Now i'm there with family, it looks like i'm in the Tenderloin District of San Francisco. Straight trash. You know, giving the excuse to the security guard at the elevator when asked for a copy of their room key, "oh i left it some where. My girlfriend has it"

Wait till its back to normal before you go.

I watch live streams on You Tube from several Vegas people & Vegas doesn't look prosperous from what I'm seeing........the night life looks like it sucks. I don't see how Vegas ever recovers to how it once was before the virus.

Thanks for posting an honest account of what you saw in Vegas. There are plenty of liars here who even when obvious, will not mention the negative side of things.

As covid persists, Las Vegas will continue spiraling downward economically. It already was a dangerous city and it's going to get much worse.

Yea man. What I documented was no way an exaggeration. The players are probably opting for local casinos or playing online. The weekend get away crowd is sparse. Hardly any families. No foreign tourists for obvious reasons. All that's left are the seniors, and trashy people in the casinos. The junkies/homeless are dominating the strip

WOW, I haven't heard one person say things are great in Vegas, not one. Can you name the liar? Or is TDS beginning to totally consume you?

It is August. Never been a good month. We will see what happens when football gets here. Can't wait to see social distancing in the sportsbook for football.
