The Philadelphia Flyers and the Montreal Canadiens will go Head-to-head in the opening round of the NHL Stanley Cup playoffs after the Canadiens managed to pull a massive upset over the Pittsburgh Penguins and the Flyers were able to go undefeated in their round robin to capture the #1 seed heading into the playoffs. If you ask anyone what got the Canadiens this far they would most certainly tell you Carey Price is the reason, and the fact is, I wouldn’t really be able to argue with that. One thing however about this Montreal Canadiens team that needs to be mentioned is that they played smart team hockey in each and every one of their games vs the Penguins; they may not light up the score sheet every single night but they played defensive hockey and did a great job of keeping the puck away from the front of their net and shut down top players on the Penguins, something I expect to happen once again when the Canadiens and Flyers meet. When goaltender Carey Price is locked in, he is the clear #1 goaltender in the world and he sure looked like that vs the Penguins. Anything that Price could see, he was stopping. With the Montreal Canadiens playing against the #1 seed in the eastern conference, I expect that defensive mentality to only get stronger, the Candiens will be a team to bet unders on all throughout the playoffs and all through this series. Although the Canadiens were able to get some scoring production, they still lack that All-star forward that many teams have and because they lack that they’ll have to be very strong defensively everywhere they are on the ice. As far as the Flyers go, I believe they will continue with the unders right where they left off in their seeding round robin. The Flyers went Under the total in all of their seeding games and a lot of that is credited to their great goaltending as well just like the Habs. Carter Hart is an outstanding young goaltender that has shown brilliance on many big stages including the national level so I see no signs of nerves coming from him on this big stage. Carter Hart is a backbone for the Flyers along with their large defensive core that will make things very difficult for Montreal to get behind them and find scoring opportunity. I predict the Flyers to need some time to settle into the playoff mindset and I expect the Montreal Canadiens to pick up right where they left off with the Penguins and play low scoring defensive hockey. I don’t see many goals coming in game 1.

Love the Indians here since they have been strong at home this season and Carrasco has been excellent all season long. The Flyers' Carter Hart wasn't too shabby, either, winning both of his round-robin starts and allowing just two goals. Both teams have struggled since the restart on the power play, as the Canadiens are 0-for-12 while the Flyers are 0-for-11. These are two very good defensive teams and very physical, so this should be a low-scoring game. The Under has cashed in six straight for Flyers.

There's plenty of value to be had here. The Indians offense has been nonexistent in 2020. They rank last in baseball in slugging and OPS, and are doing slightly better in wOBA, ranking 29th. Their pitching is wonderful, but Carlos Carrasco is prone to the dinger and he's facing a Cubs lineup that has been in the top 10 in HR rate this season despite a lot of key players slumping. The Cubs are the smart play. Well, as long as they keep Craig Kimbrel away from a late lead, anyway. Fingers crossed!

Godley, to be blunt, has been awful since the start of 2019. He doesn't strike anybody out, and he walks nearly everyone else. Not a great combination. As for Snell, he gets the strikeouts, but also loses his command too often. So there will be runners on base in this game, and combined with weather conditions that typically see the ball carry at Fenway, we're going to see a lot of people touching home plate tonight.
