Useless Anecdote

This is a true story.

I was in a car dealership yesterday and one of the financial managers had a Yankee screensaver on his computer so I started talking about baseball with him. There were two managers working side-by-side one in probably his 50's and the other in his early 60's and both were white.

We started talking about football and basketball and other sports too. Both of them told me they refuse to watch the NBA. I thought maybe they were agitated by the lack of fans or whatever. Both said they were agitated by the kneeling for the National Anthem and the constant "in your face" social justice messages on the court, on the uniforms and on ESPN and said they just don't want any part of it.

Both said this isn't happening in the NHL so they've watched it since it's been back.

These two are far from the only ones that feel this way. The league is losing fans.

Thought I'd share for what it's worth.

Will wait for my 2-3 haters to come in and call me dumb and say this is a useless thread.

Enfuego wanted a human connection and figure they had to talk to him at a car dealership. He was pleasantly surprised and excited that they shared an opinion the same as his own, so he rushed home to share it to the people he thinks respect him the most.

Cannot believe the Dems and the MSM are following exactly the same track as in 2016. Just watch the Sunday morning shows where they are quoting the same polls that were wrong last time in explaining how Trump has to panic and change his strategy. Exactly right on the "silent majority." Who is more likely to turn out to vote...the rioters in the streets and the loudmouth progressives who have to get excited about Biden or the core voters for Trump PLUS those that see what a liberal agenda does for law and order, regulations and taxes. I'll take my chances and worry more about Nikki Haley and her bid in 2024.

The Dems are doubling & tripling down on the same logic that lost them the election in 2016.....when you're blinded by hate, you can't see straight & you will fall off the cliff.

I moved in with my girl finally and she got ready for me by getting as much extra sports stations on the cable as a welcome gift. I told her thanks but take all of that shit off until this marxist revolution shit is over. I won't even listen on the radio. Won't bet it. Nothing.

It's crazy how there are millions of us around the country who have been forced to take this kind of stand. I'm still betting but I won't be watching. And I know many non bettors who are taking the same stand.

I haven't stopped watching the NBA because I love the athleticism but do I need to hear Cari Champion going on about our hero NBA players and their bravery each commercial break? Nope.
