So this might be a really dumb question, it probably is. But a for instance here, I can bet the Blues in regulation at -140 on the ML or -1/2 goal at +120. I realize I lose the PL if it goes to OT but is it a push if you bet the ML?

Thanks guys.

If you take the Blues to win in regulation it is called a 3 way wager. If the game goes to OT, you lose the wager.

guess it depends on your book . ML OT is included no push so either you win or lose. Some guys play regulation line my local doesn’t include that but lots of options

So with both options available, if I'm betting them in regulation, just take the PL, right? That's where I get thrown off. Why even have the option of the plus money on the PL?

Thank you all BTW.

puck line

The Puck Line is +money because you are wagering for the Blues to win by 2 goals in regulation.

My book has it at plus money at just a 1/2 goal in regulation on PL but -140 on ML. It looks like the same bet. I see this in baseball on First 5 lines. Run line way better odds than money line. I know I'm missing something here.

Of course run line will be higher payout similar to puck line but it sucks winning the game and losing the bet . MlL is a safer play in long run dogs pay on the ml nicely try to avoid high chalk or you’ll be a chasing fool

Betting the moneyline will never be a push, if the game goes to OT your bet is still alive. Puck line, if you bet the favorite, is a loser obviously if game goes to overtime

But the bet is for regulation only. Wouldn't the ML and -1/2 PL both be losers if it went to OT?

Yes, a money line regulation wager that goes to OT loses. The Puck line will lose as well.

It depends on the book but the ml regulation that is a straight money line probably pushes if it goes to ot. Otherwise why would you ever bet the ml and not the minus a half goal in regulation? It has to be a push.

If you have a 3-way line for regulation—team A, push, team B—only the result of regulation pays. So If you bet team A or team B to win but they are tied at the end of regulation, you would lose your bet. People who bet the push would win.

if you have a 2-way only line—team A, team B—the final result determines the payout. So whichever team wins the contest is the one that pays off.

Many books offer both 3-way and 2-way, as well as various puck line options (+ or - goals).
Take the time to read the wagering rules at your book. If you aren’t clear on what you are betting, don’t bet it until you have a full understanding. You owe that to yourself and your wallet. Good luck!
