Ninety-four percent of Americans who died from COVID-19 had other “types of health conditions and contributing causes” in addition to the virus, according to a new CDC report.

Using provisional data on coronavirus-related deaths from the week ending Feb. 1 through Aug. 22, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention concluded last week that “for 6 percent of the deaths, COVID-19 was the only cause mentioned.”

“For deaths with conditions or causes in addition to COVID-19, on average, there were 2.6 additional conditions or causes per death,” the report said.

Respiratory conditions such as influenza and pneumonia, respiratory failure and respiratory arrest, as well as circulatory conditions such as hypertensive diseases, cardiac arrest and heart failure are on the list.

Other conditions included sepsis, diabetes, renal failure and Alzheimer’s disease.

The counts are based on death certificates, which the agency called “the most reliable source of data.”

However, the provisional data is not yet complete, the counts are not final, and they should not be compared across states, the agency warned.

As of Monday, the US has surpassed 6 million coronavirus cases and 183,000 deaths, Johns Hopkins University statistics show.

It is 100% confirmed that no people under 55 that are truly generally healthy will die from Covid - it's however highly contagious and we have a high percentage of obese people - but if ur 50 years old u should be living ur life as u always have - this locking kids down in college is comical

There are a lot of these cases. I know of probably 20. I also know 3 different families who went to hospital and demanded they change the cause of death to the appropriate cause. Hospital changed it....

So, if that were true, how many years would C-19 killing him take off his life?

You Red Herd brainiacs are something else.

News Flash, morons – NOBODY DIES FROM COVID 19!!! They die from what the Coronavirus brings to the party – pneumonia and high fever. People with underlying health issues, asthma, heart troubles, certain cancers, etc. things that can be controlled or not immediately life-threatening, become, with Covid 19, immediately deadly – as it has for 186k dead Americans. This is really NOT rocket science. Honest.

Well said.

Nice try but you're being disingenuous.

Only 27% of those with stage 4 lung cancer live for 5 years.

Regardless, the point is if they die with C-19 in them why shouldn't they list it as a C-19 caused death. The person may have lived on for months or years without it.

For it was stated:

I saw an article where a 75 year old man, had stage 4 lung cancer he Died they put covid on the certificate.

What is the percentage for people who die with influenza?

CDC estimates that during the 2018-2019 flu season, 647,000 people were hospitalized and 61,200 died.

CDC’s 2017-2018 estimates 959,000 hospitalizations and 79,400 deaths.

CDC estimates that during the 2018-2019 flu season, 647,000 people were hospitalized and 61,200 died.

"CDC estimates that the burden of illness during the 2018–2019 season included an estimated 35.5 million people getting sick with influenza, 16.5 million people going to a health care provider for their illness, 490,600 hospitalizations, and 34,200 deaths from influenza (Table 1)." https://www.cdc.gov/flu/about/burden/2018-2019.html

CDC’s 2017-2018 estimates 959,000 hospitalizations and 79,400 deaths.

"The overall burden of influenza for the 2017-2018 season was an estimated 45 million influenza illnesses, 21 million influenza-associated medical visits, 810,000 influenza-related hospitalizations, and 61,000 influenza-associated deaths."

The following post:

http://www.therxforum.com/showthread.php?t=1164703&page=4&p=13235443&viewfull=1#post13235443

says:

"According to you the C-19 death rate is 0.25 to 0.4:

http://www.therxforum.com/showthread...1#post13211455

That's 2.5 to 4 times higher than the flu death rate.

Add in that C-19 is more infectious and it becomes even more deadly than the flu.

When has even a bad flu year ever come anywhere near to over 180,000 deaths.

And the year isn't nearly over yet.

Moreover when has a bad flu year ever had lockdowns, widespread mask use, social distancing, etc, in practice?

Without such measures the C-19 death count would have been more like a million for 2020. In the USA alone.

Additionally without such measures many hospitals would have been overwhelmed & many non C-19 emergency patients refused treatment & left to die.

Without such measures many more would also have died from the flu, car accidents, etc."

It should be evident to all that C-19 is way, way worse than the flu.
