While I am disappointed that we won't have the full compliment of college football games this season, I would rather have some action then none at all. I have enjoyed posting my plays in the baseball and hockey forum and will do my best to post my plays here providing I have time. My plays will be 1-5 units. I will post a couple season win totals and conference winners for the power 5 conferences over the weekend.

September 3rd

South Alabama +13 (-110), 2 units- While I would have preferred to get this line at +14, I feel pretty good about taking a stab here to start the season.

SMU 1H -13 (-110), 3 units
SMU 1H over 26 (-115), 2 units

The lines have moved significantly the last day or two in the SMU game. SMU was -11.5 in the first half and their team total was 24. I wanted to lock these plays in and get them posted before the value disappeared. I may have something in the late game tomorrow, but this is it for now.

SMU was not ready to go in the first quarter and it cost me. If they came out and scored a couple touchdowns like they did in the 2nd and 3rd quarter, at least the team total over would have hit. No big deal as the season is just getting underway. I will be back tomorrow with a play on the BYU/Navy game.

Louisiana Lafayette +11.5 (-110), 3 units

Charlotte/App State over 59 (-110), 3 units
Army -13 1H (-105), 2 units- This full game line is up to 21 or 21.5 depending on the book and I don't see value there. If you want to use this game as a teaser option, that's one thing. But in my opinion, this game goes like many one sided games that we have seen before. The better team comes out and has a big first half, then pumps the brakes in the second half and the spread gets dicey. That's why I am more comfortable with a first half play. Army dominated Middle Tennessee last week while ULM has yet to play. Louisiana Monroe didn't practice for 11 days due to the virus and it seems like they don't have their stuff together as a team. Army should be ready to go out of the gate and cover this first half line with ease.

Positive day, but not as good as I would have liked. Clearly yesterday proved that it doesn't make sense to put bets in early for college football. I would have never taken Georgia Southern had I known that 33 players weren't going to play yesterday. And they weren't the only school with issues like this.

September 19th

This is the only game I am going to post tonight. We saw last week that it isn't worth betting these games ahead of time and there have already been multiple games cancelled due to the virus. The slate is small tomorrow as a result and I am hoping we don't lose any more games for this week. I have another 4-5 plays I like, but I'm going to wait until an hour before kickoff before I post any of them. GL.

Of course the one play I post last night, the line has dropped a point and a half. I haven't taken it yet because I am waiting for the best line, but I will be taking the over before kickoff. I will use the number I posted here for my win/loss record, but I will be taking over 46.5 or wherever it ends up. I expect Navy to shore up their defense from what we saw two weeks ago when they gave up 55 to BYU. But I don't think they are suddenly going to be elite. These two teams played last year to a 41-38 finish and while I don't see the game being that high scoring today, I expect them to surpass 20 points apiece. Something like 27-24 seems right. I will have a few more picks as those games approach kickoff.

Tough end of the day. Got off to a 3-1 start and then couldn't hit anything at night. The Southern Miss loss really was the swing game. They hold on and I profit a couple units. Most important, the SEC will be getting underway and the Big Ten isn't far behind. We should have better games on the horizon. I'll be back Thursday with a play providing the game doesn't get postponed lol. GL on your action this week.
