Hey everyone. I have enjoyed posting picks in a couple of the other forums and I am looking forward to posting my plays here as well. I'm sure we are all happy that the NFL is back and it is nice to have some normalcy back at least in the sports world. As usual, my plays will be 1-5 units and my record will be updated daily. Good luck and let's make money.

September 10th

Texans +10 (-120), 3 units

I will have write ups here and there when I have time. Clete Blakeman is a referee who often favors the underdogs. The underdogs have covered the spread 15 of the last 20 season openers. Now they have only won 4, but I don't need Houston to win. These games are often close for a number of reasons and I'm willing to take Houston tonight. You will see in my regular season win totals I'm about to post, I am not high on Houston overall. But they are good enough to keep it within single digits tonight.

NFL Season Win Totals

Bills under 9 (+115), 2 units- Every year we see a couple teams that are severely over hyped and don't meet the expectations. Last season it was the Bears and the Browns. Trubisky was getting pounded at sportsbooks to win the MVP. The Bears and Browns got bet across the board whether it was regular season win totals, division winner or to make/win the Super Bowl. Both teams went under and neither made the playoffs. This year everyone loves the Bills and Bucs. I don't think Josh Allen is very good and the pressure on that team to finally break through and win the division now that Brady is gone might be too much for them to handle. This is a contrarian pick, but I think it is very possible this team goes 8-8 and squeaks into the playoffs due to the extra playoff spot.

Panthers under 5.5 (+105), 2 units
Raiders under 7.5 (-125), 2 units
Patriots over 9 (+120), 2 units- If I think the Bills are going to underachieve, then someone else needs to win this division. I don't see Miami or the Jets as that team which leaves New England. They certainly have some questions at wide receiver and linebacker among other spots. But they have the best coach, a talented qb, a good offensive line and the best secondary in the league. I am happy to back Belicheck at plus money to do what he does every year, get 10 wins.

Falcons over 7.5 (-120), 3 units- I am high on Atlanta this season. They finished last year 6-2 when their coach was on the hot seat. That is a good sign along with the fact that their defense can't suffer as many injuries as they did last season. They lost Austin Hooper to Cleveland, but replaced him with Hayden Hurst from the Ravens. Gurley should have something to prove and I certainly like the combo of Jones and Ridley at wide receiver. Most people think the top two finishers in this division will be the Saints and Bucs, but I think Atlanta will have something to say about that.

I took the Texans under 7.5, but I was busy last night and forgot to post it so I'm not going to count it towards my record.

Division Winners

Patriots to win the AFC East (+170), 2 units
Cowboys to win the NFC East (-130), 2 units

Player Props

Mayfield under 3,899.5 passing yards (-120), 1 unit
Mixon over 1,149.5 rushing yards (-120), 1 unit
Hopkins under 8.5 receiving TD's (-110), 1 unit
Kupp under 7.5 receiving TD's (-125), 1 unit

Forgot to post Vikings/Packers over earlier. I obviously won’t count it on my record.

That's not as square as a lot of the action that's going to come in on the later games tomorrow. Everyone is going to be on Arizona, Baltimore and Kansas City. Good luck on the remainder of your teaser.

Yesterday 2-0/YTD: 4-7, -11.45 units

September 20th

Eagles pk (-110), 4 units- This is my favorite play of the week. This is a big game for Philly to avoid starting the season 0-2. Lane Johnson is on track to return this week and the Eagles are a much better team historically when he is in the lineup. The Rams are traveling west to east for an early start which won't help them and I wasn't impressed with their offense last week. Goff really didn't take any shots downfield as the offense was primarily runs, screen passes or passes within ten yards of the line of scrimmage. I'm not sure the Rams will be able to take advantage of the Eagles front seven over pursuing on screens like they did against Dallas. Philly also will get back Miles Sanders and Javon Hargrave on Sunday. I think we get a more complete game from Wentz and the Eagles as a whole and they get their first win of the season.

Back with more plays on Sunday.

Dolphins +3 (-110), 2 units
Dolphins/Jaguars over 49 (-115), 3 units

I think talent wise Miami is actually a little better overall then the Jags. The motivation is clearly there for the Dolphins and Fitzpatrick. If they lose this game, it could be Tua time. Miami gets a big step down in competition going from Buffalo and New England to Jacksonville. So I will grab the points with the Dolphins who know any playoff hopes they have will be dashed if they come up short tonight.

I landed on the over for a couple reasons. Number one, both of these defenses are really struggling. Miami is allowing 7.2 yards per play and both of their starting corners are hurt. Meanwhile, the Jaguars are 30th in the league in passing yards allowed and have recorded one sack in the first two games. Seems like they could use a guy like Jalen Ramsay or Yannick Ngakoue. Fitzpatrick played very well last week against a very good Bills defense and most important, he didn't throw any interceptions. This game could be similar to last Thursday's Browns/Bengals game in terms of total points.
