Those cops lacked situational awareness and were dull as a knife. They should have had zero issues with him being 2 on 1. They let too much time go by thus causing their demise

I've never been trained as a policeman, but that doesn't seem like good policing tactics.

Guys, this is why you can't allow people to ignore lawful commands. You ask someone one time and then you tell them and then if they don't listen you do whatever it takes to get them out of the car. I don't care if the police crack someone's skull open with a billy club. The second time you are asked if you don't comply, you get whatever force it takes to make you comply.

You knew this kid had a history in drugs which leads to a much higher probability he has possession of a fire arm. You also allowed him to call a friend, who is likely another drug dealer that has possession of a fire arm. Horrible decision making on the cops part, you can't at any point lose sight of his hands based off his history. I would have also been extremely worried about his friend's appearance considering his background.

I don't want to get in a back and forth in this forum but they took this kid lightly based mostly on the color of his skin. You don't let a drug dealer phone a friend.

With all that said, RIP to this officer(hopefully the 2nd pulls through) he gave his life in protection of the public. He seemed like a great person. It's horrible to see him die at the hands of a scumbag piece of whinny trash like this kid.

Also one has to enjoy the clownishness of lawyers. This was 100 percent a cold blooded murdered. Nothing the officers did justified it. They gave the whinny scumbag too much rope, not the opposite.

They don't shoot black people in these situations either. By the time he grabbed the gun it was too late. They don't just tell a black guy get out of the car and shoot him if he doesn't. But they should have beaten the fuck out of him to get him out and pulled their guns the seconfd he didn't

You need to grab him by the torso and the other cop needs to get behind him and force him out. They just kept grabbing at his limbs. I would have wanted him out and in the back of the cop car before this "friend" came by...

This is fucked up. Feel really bad for these police officers and their families however they gave this punk too much leeway. The color of his white skin may have played a role in how they interrogated and attempted to arrest him. Highly doubt a person of color would gotten away from all that stalling and resisting arrest. I was anxious and boiling with anger as I was watching. They should have kicked his ass and been more aggressive and the body cam would have justified it. Way too nice and tolerant these cops were.

I feel awful for these cops. They did a horrible job with this guy though. How do you let the perp call for back up? This video needs to be played as an example of how not to handle a situation.

Being a cop is not a job I'd wish on anyone in this day and age. You can't win.
