Many were questioning Drew Brees’ effectiveness heading into Week 3, but those questions were mostly answered with an efficient 288-yard, three-touchdown performance. However, Brees is dead last (33rd) in the league in average depth of target (4.6 yards) and is the only QB to average fewer than six yards per target. This is a sign that the Saints and/or Brees himself do not believe he can throw downfield effectively anymore.
But this week, Brees’ arm strength may not matter so much against a Lions defense that has given up an average of 172.3 rushing yards per game, third-most in the NFL. Watch for the Saints to try to control the game on the ground with running backs Alvin Kamara and Latavius Murray.

While the Detroit defense has been a sieve against the run, the Saints defense has allowed the seventh-fewest yards per game on the ground. This means the Lions will likely have to pass the ball a ton to outscore the potent Saints attack.
The return of star receiver Kenny Golladay provided a boost for Matthew Stafford in Week 3 as he led the team with a 6-57-1 line. Look for Golladay to again be the primary target in a game in which the Lions will likely be trailing.
Detroit’s Week 3 win was a long time coming, snapping a streak of 11 straight losses. The Lions hadn’t celebrated a victory since October 27, 2019, when they bested the New York Giants 31-26 at Ford Field.

He’s averaging 244 passing yards with four TDs and zero INTs over his past two starts, and is no stranger to big games. He exceeded the 300-yard plateau four times last season and has already done it once in three starts in 2020.

The ball should be flying in this one, with neither defense having proven all that capable of slowing down opposing air attacks. Don’t be surprised to see another Seattle game with 60-plus total points scored.

Chargers running backs, particularly rookie Joshua Kelley, can be avoided in DFS and fantasy against Tampa’s stout run defense, which ranked first in the league last season and has allowed the third-fewest yards on the ground this year.

However, the Bucs’ offensive depth will be tested this week as star receiver Chris Godwin and deep threat Scotty Miller are both dealing with hamstring injuries and should be considered doubtful. Look for Mike Evans to receive a heavy workload if his co-star can’t suit up.
Lost in the Brady-Gronk mania is a defense that has quietly ascended to one of the league’s best. The Bucs have allowed the fourth-fewest yards per game, are tied for second in the league in takeaways (6) and are allowing just 4.7 yards per play – the second-lowest mark in the league.
Betting Pick: Buccaneers -7.5
The UNDER also looks like a solid bet for this game, but ultimately we just do not see rookie quarterback Justin Herbert moving the ball very easily or scoring many points on the road against a top defense.
