Having just read the article, I agree that it well worth the read.
Even though some folks in here label me as far left liberal at best, that is far from the case, and I actually agree with much of what is stated here.
For example I am against both abortion and gay marriage because of my religious beliefs, which overall combine the best of what I deem to be from
Judaism by born religion and Christianity.
I do not agree though with the article though in its entirety.
I do think there are some resultant unanswered questions at least for me.
For example, for those of us who are religious, one has to make the decision as to what percentage of one's thinking should be based on his own religious beliefs
as opposed to his beliefs based on the secular world where of which politics is a big part.
In other words, the question arises as to whether everything we say and do should be based on our higher power beliefs, our secular and political beliefs
or somewhere in between.
As I myself am a strong believer in the afterlife, in general I subordinate my secular and political beliefs to my religious ones.
However as I do live a secular life and do believe that there is a divine purpose for my existence, I do have to make everyday decisions and act
upon what I deem to be the right thing to do, which in turn is guided by my inner and spiritual sense.
In short, what I am saying is that there is a dichotomy between religion and one's secular existence which each person must resolve for themselves.
Getting more specific and as it relates to the article and the Election, I simply do not believe that it is really all that simple to talk about terms
like vision and future in a vacuum without considering the individuals whose actions will have a big effect on the former.
To cut to the chase, from what I have seen of President Trump over the last four years, my honest opinion is that his interests are
mostly all self-serving, and that he has very little concern, empathy and sympathy for anyone other than his family and supporters.
Rather than go on, lets just say that based on both my spiritual and secular opinions, I do not feel Trump is the man for the job,
and imo not in the opinion of God either.
Change is needed.
ps If nothing else, I hope that this serves to show willie99 that at least some of are capable of independent thought and know how to and are not
afraid to express it.
Hopefully some other folks will express their opinions to the topic of the thread.
