5-Star Vikings Saints OVER 52 - Last week the Saints had a big game vs the Chiefs and game up just short. Their
offense managed only 18:46 of possession time and they have short rest. The Vikings should be able to take advantage
of a tired defense. We are on the Over.
Significant underdogs have played to the Over vs a team that is off a game in which they did not have a lot of possession
time. Specifically, Underdogs by at least five points on artificial turf are 29-0 OU when they are off a home loss and
they are facing a non-divisional opponent that is off a game in which they had less than 26 minutes of possession time
and allowing less than 22.8 ppg. See for yourself by running this SDQL text:
line>=5 and surface=artificial and NDIV and p:HL and op:TOP/60<26 and oA(o:points) < 22.8 and season >= 1999
In addition, the league is 6-0 OU off a game vs the Chiefs in which they had less than 23 minutes of possession time
and allowed fewer than 225 rushing yards, as long as the OU line is at least 45. The SDQL text is:
po:team=Chiefs and p:TOP/60<23 and po:RY <225 and total>= 45 and season >= 2012
The Saints punted the ball away eight times last week against the Chiefs and were 1-of-11 on third downs. This
points to the over, as New Orleans is 10-0 OU on artificial turf off a game as a dog in which they had more punts than
third down conversions and are facing a team that has averaged less than 175 rushing yards per game. The Saints have
scored more than 30 points in each of their last six games in this spot and they have allowed an average of 30.0 ppg.
team=Saints and surface=artificial and p:D and p:3DM<p:punts and oA(RY)<175 and season >= 2013
The Vikings have failed to cover five straight games and here they are a significant road dog to a team with a good
defense. Minnesota is 9-0 OU on the road when they are not the favorite, they have failed to cover at least their last
two games and were favorite in at least one of them, when they are facing a team that has allowed less than 23.25
ppg. The SDQL text is:
team = Vikings and A and line>=0 and ats streak<=-2 and tS(F,N=2)>0 and oA(o:points) <23.25 and season >=
