Will the stimulus checks cost the Republicans the senate?

With Trump coming down hard on the Senate and both races pretty much in a toss up now, I have to wonder if this will be the straw that breaks the camel's back and give all 3 branches to the Democrats. And if so, was it worth it?

The people that vote for a living are already democratic locks, the only issue is motivation

I suppose $ 4,000 + per household will motivate them more than free everything, since that stuff is already free for them

Republicans should pass it and Democrats should deal with election security and big tech censorship. Easy But that is politics

To be honest if conservatives want to fix the party vote out the scum even if it means voting Democrat. Yeah...I said it. Let the neocons and RINO know to get it together or you are never getting in power. Why change when people will just vote for you because you are their party

The last time the democrats were unchecked they stuffed Obamacare down our throats. Once these MASSIVE out of control and redicoulsy useless and needless POS policies become law, they're impossible to remove

And I'm more concerned about what they're going to do this time

Raise taxes
Increase regulations
Pack the SC
Create new states
Stop fracking
Stop clean coal
Enter into one sided deals with the world
Open the borders

Totally fucking the American economy and Americans, thus creating more needy democratic voters

....and collapsing the middle class and the tax base. The Democrat governors and mayors have already started us down the road of irreparable damage by locking us down, in particular the cities. The damage caused by unoccupied office towers will ruin our cities.

I would take that answer as a "maybe".

Personally I think the Republicans win one of the races. But with the narrow margin at this point, I think it's a possibility that both seats are lost.

I look at it as not those who "vote for a living", but simply those who vote. Many of which are very hard working, who had their business shuttered after decades. Many have always had empathy for others and never personally needed any help the majority of their lives (they also aren't the types that judge other by how they dress, income status, materialistic goods, or skin color-part of our New Year's morning talk). These are people rich and poor being impacted. They are also registered Democrats, Republicans, and independents being impacted. And of course, much of the Middle Class. All of which very much may be motivated to vote what's in their best interest now. And I'm thinking the standard arguments that aren't going to help someone's immediate situation may fall on deaf ears.

Tuesday is going to be interesting to say the least.

Those working people you're talking about are not looking for the quick fix, they want their jobs back. And they are the same people who oppose lockdowns, which are strongly advocated by the democrats

If you're voting for 2k, you vote for a living and you don't understand better.

I honestly don’t think it matters either way if Republicans went for 2k or not. This election on tuesday will get dragged out past Inauguration Day think pretty obvious what’s going to happen. The safest and most secure elections ever lol tinder box erruting

Actually those working people I'm talking about do think they should have approved the $2k. They're pissed and think both parties are playing them as pawns in their political game of chess and agree with the President. Yeah, they want their jobs back and are none too please that they can't function and run their business as normal (definitely don't vote for a living). I also know people in the group you speak about.

But probably the easiest way to look at things is to use the list you made and look at a scenario.

Raise taxes
Increase regulations
Pack the SC
Create new states

On the one hand, we have basically a guarantee the Senate stays in the hands of Republicans. On the other hand, we have a 50/50 scenario. We also have the possibility that the Democrats hold onto the House in the Mid Terms (I know you think they won't but we don't know that). That gives the Democrats all 3 branches for potentially 4 years.

So same question. If you're presented with a scenario like this and you lose the Senate over it and all the damage that can be caused (which I wholeheartedly agree with you), do you roll the dice and let the chips fall where they may....is it worth it?

Think it’s pretty safe to say if mail in elections are the new norm then we all have a good idea what the out come is. If Georgia holds republican then maybe my opinion on what’s going on will be different.

Trump shouldn't have come down hard on the senate for the 2k if he couldn't close the deal, definitely puts GOP in a bit of a precarious position but we'll see what happens.

Sometimes the bigger picture is worth looking at. What's the saying about cutting off the nose to spite the face? Or maybe penny wise and pound foolish is the better saying. Losing these two races opens a can of worms I'd just assume stay shut.

The vote wont but voter fraud will cost them the election

Well yeah. We can keep going with that one face)(*^%

It never ends

In the meantime, I'll keep looking at the scoreboard and see if the Republicans can give up all 3 branches in a short 10 years. I truly hope I'm wrong, but for as much as it's preached how quickly the Democrats give up control, a case could be made for Republicans also.

Actually let me correct that. It would be 4 years since the Republicans gave up the Presidency, Senate, and House. And 10 years since the Democrats controlled all 3. So even more amazing if they lose both elections in Georgia.
