definitely need an 8 team playoff system to weed out these posers, would have loved to seen FLA, A&M, Cincy in an 8 teamer

Probably would have been an all SEC final 4 if GA was included, I forgot who top 8 was

Time for the committee to say enough is enough with putting Ohio State in the championship series. They play no one and come in for the ceremonial beatdown. Everyone ripped the SEC this year. They did pretty good in the bowls.

Exactly. SEC rules all conferences.

A goal of mine is to come to Gainesville for a game in the next 1-2 years.

Has always been on my bucket list.

I agree....Ohio St was never challenged all year unless you are one of a few who thought the Hoosiers had a real football team. They did ball out vs Clemson though....and no one was beating Bama this year Ala LSU 2019.

That said I definitely want a 6 or 8 team playoff. I did not want to see the Gators play without Pitts and Toney. I wanted to see the dynamic duo at North Carolina play one more time. NCAA has to figure a way to keep the stars on the field for these bowl games. It is becoming a distraction.

Give us a break...

I had Bama but OSU was missing TWO top notch defensive linemen, that is always a bif key to wagering... they could not pressure Jones, game over.

OSU had 13 players out, then their top RB got hurt, and their QB played with bad ribs (probably broken) probably restricted his throwing and though he had some good runs IMO he passed up several more he might have normally taken.

I did not go to OSU but haters are being ridiculous that they did not deserve to be in the final 4.

The Big 10 did well in the bowls before tonight, (3-1 ATS) and OSU crushed former recent national champs and 2020 ACC Champs Clemson, IMO they would be likely to beat A&M and others mentioned as shoulda coulda woulda been in the playoffs...

I am in favor of an 8 team playoff, it creates more interest in the bowl season (sorely needed), lets teams like Oklahoma, A&M, Cincy, FLA, get a shot, makes things fair (EVERY YEAR teams complain they should have been the 4 seed), stops 4 more teams from falling apart going to NFL. Also need to eliminate about 1/2 of the other bowls they are a joke though TV money will keep them going.

Great post. Realty is Buckeyes ran into a buzz saw but they absolutely deserved to be in the top 4

Buckeyes deserves to be there but they were never in this game. Alabama controlled it all. Alabam lost a huge dB via targeting and the best player in college football for the entire second half. Alabam could have chosen the number, they were just that good tonight. Alabama is the best team and next year everyone starts over, that’s how it works in this sport.
ohio state was a good team but ran into a juggernaut.

why? The best team won it all. You want more for the sake of gambling and entertainment but ultimately you can’t argue that the best team didn’t win. Inevitably the committee got it right because the only undefeated team won it all.

Ohio St beat Clemson. They deserved their shot. They got it.....and it was over before the game even started. Hell Saban even wore a Gatorade proof outfit so it would not stain like year's past. That is a fact. Saban even prepared his outfit for after the beating.

Ohio St had a whole lotta issues all year....barely beating Indiana which loses to a middle of the pack SEC school after having their entire Wide receiving Corp opt out. Big 10 football is a laughing stock....Michigan gives an extension to Harbaugh, Penn St would get drilled by Liberty, who knew Illinois even had a football team, Nebraska wishing they were back in the Big 12, and the list goes on.. Northwestern being the 2nd best team in the conference is all you need to know.

Someone had to be the sacrificial lamb though....so why not Ohio St. If I was the Buckeyes though, I may start to worry. The further you get away from Urban, the problems are becoming much more glaring. If they do not get out in front of this issue, then the beatings will continue and get worse.

I think that there are reasons NOT to go to 8 teams, sure, but for the good of NCAA football an 8 team playoff needs to be implemented. I am not adament about it, do not say it is definitely the way to go and everybody opposing it is wrong, but it is, say, a 60%-40% decision for me.

Every year the #4 team, maybe even the #3 are debateable or even extremely debateable, this year not OSU but ND was very questionable, A&M, Oklahoma, & FLA would definitely be Vegas favorites over ND. Maybe GA too.

There would be tremendous interest in the playoffs and teams like Cincy would have a reason to play hard to get into the playoffs, every year that kind of team would be interested in getting in... IMO Cincy could hang with some of the playoff teams this year, but blown to smithereens by Bama. It is good for the sport to have a non power conference team get in sometimes. And Power 5 Champs should get top consideration, though the Pac 12 has not been worthy, lately.

AND that is 4 more teams that do not ruin their bowl games with jackoffs that sit out for the NFL.

Also, NO coaches should be allowed to sign with a new team and abandon their teams until after their last game, I know there are legal issues with doing that but the NCAA can make it a rule...

Sure, Bama was the best team (I had 'em!) but the way things are going 8 teams is better for all. (cut other bowls by 50% too)

HA agree from the wagering standpoint, but wow some of these bowls are outrageously bad, not just talking about this CCP virus year, the previous years a lot of matchups were awful.

I am not too worried about it...!
