Saban said a good defense can't win games anymore, it's all about offense. Might as well shrink the field by 75 yards, start each team on the 25, just like OT. Who ever forces FG's, wins the game. Defenses are moving more to a deep safety or two, more zone, and sound tackles in space, Limiting big plays. LSU last yr and Bama this year, mirror images.

The game turned out as I expected, Covid was not a factor, Fields was cautious.

Bama will have 70 of the top 300 players on their roster next season. Who is the next D Smith at WR, Bama will have the luxury of sifting thru a dozen or so to find the closest match. Screening those players that fall into the transfer portal for Bama next year should work out well.

The only way to beat teams like Bama and LSU (last year) is 50+ points on the board. Defenses will focus on sound tackles, play zone and hope the offense has a TO. Teams like Bama will coast down the field, til the red zone where defenses will get more aggressive. Minimize big plays that don't eat clock, then tighten up inside the 20. OSu tried to man up D Smith at the end of 1st half and gave up a 60 TD.

Bama, LSU and CU have the formula, how long does Kelly at ND stick with the old school model? How stubborn can an old Irish guy be?

Enjoy the Bama -7 and the OVER winning I posted all week long. Off to Pattaya for the rest of the winter, hope there is an America to come back to.

Having played on the Cowboys practice squad for 2 years, I am also a very good NFL capper. Game prep is very different then college.

Take KC -10 vs CLE, almost as easy as taking Bama -7

I'd also suggest taking UNDER 57 in this game

Watching the Tiger bio, I can relate to his upbringing.

In the interests of accuracy, OSU was in a 4-down linemen, single safety zone defense when Smith scored that 42-1/2 yard touchdown. The single safety turn his hip and took a step the wrong way leaving a middle linebacker on Smith alone.
Great play drawn up by Sark, took full advantage of a poor secondary.
OSU didnot "man up" Smith on that play.

You might be correct, but why would a LB playing zone be chasing Smith 40 yards down field? I havent watched the game again, however I am certain their was a deep safety. OSU did play a lot of zone, which obviously was not enough.

They should have rushed 3, played 3 safeties, and 5 corners for the majority of that game. Wade should have been glued to Smith, regardless of the down and distance, with a deep safety on every down. Force Bama to make Harris run between the twenties. Inside the twenty bring 2 LB's in for the safeties and tighten up the coverage. Smith wouldn't have 60 yards to work with, much easier to cover.

OSU only scored 25 points, that would have never been enough. But for me, on the over, it was good enough, especially since Smith went out, he was good for 2 more TD's in the 4Q.

It's an offensive game now, get to 49 and hope there are enough stops between the twenties to force a FG. Sound defense now, is deep safties, zone and tackling in space. Slow, thick legged white LB's have been sent into extinction by Charles Darwin's theory of evolution.

NU might be the last of it's species, how fitting it's in the B-10, where big, slow white LB's were the kings in their day. Today they are more worthless then a teat on a Boar.

I like Kansas City this week again vs the Browns. -3

I meant Kansas City -3 vs the Bills, not the Browns, Hehe.

The Super Bowl, don't be stupid take Kansas City -3.5, If the Brady hype can take it to -3 or less jump all over it.

Brady showed his age vs GB, his deep ball is horrible.

I suspect the public will push the number to under -3 by game time.
