Is Jameis Winston smart enough to be a Bellichick reclamation project?

The guy has a great arm and from my limited viewing great accuracy. But he needs to learn to protect the ball.

The Pats are in a bad way offensively.

I'm thinking that they should sign Winston in free agency. Let Bellichick see if he can school him. Take one of those tremendous Bama receivers, Waddle, or Smith, with their draft pick in the middle of the first round. Find a tight end, either in free agency or via the draft and bingo. Right back in the game.

Am I crazy?

The Saints would be crazy to not give him a real chance

also without Brady, I dont think NE is as 'sexy' a destination as it used to be for veterans who want a ring and dont mind missing out on some money

You're crazy Mikey, I'd take Cam over him, and I hated watching Cam play

He has an elite arm and much better accuracy than Cam, Willie.

Cam couldn't cut it. He tried hard. He just isn't an elite NFL QB anymore. If he signs somewhere else it will be as a backup bench warmer.

Why do you hate Winston so much.

Pats should go after DeShaun Watson

Not really in their DNA to pay a QB that much, but they should do it

They may make the mistake of going after Jimmy G

No way the Pats get Watson.

It would be insane for Hou to not get a high draft choice (or two) back in return

Would be nice but doubt they got the ammo to pull it off.

Also, he's gonna have some say over where he goes and I doubt he is clamoring to follow Tom Brady playing in cold weather with arguably the worst skill position talent in the league (although to be fair, NE will likely try their best to upgrade that this year but it ain't always easy)

I do think Watson #'s/advanced metrics slightly overrate him but unless you find a diamond in the rough or pull a Jaguars/Jets it is gonna be tough to do better than him.

I don't think NE would have any problem whatsoever paying a QB that much, just not 1 that isn't top 10ish like Jimmy or Goff or Wentz. Brady just took less because he was already rich. I'm sure they're realistic that was an anomaly.

Teddy B? Wentz? Trubinsky? Jimmy G, Watson, draft pick or Cam?

How about that kid in DC?

Bill's treatment of Stidham this year makes me think he's dead. But you never know with Belichick
