RIP Hammerin Hank. One of the greats, and as others have posted I still look upon him as the HR king.

I remember when he hit 715. I was in the kitchen and my dad was cutting my hair. RIP

i forgot that Buckner was in the outfield for the Dodgers that day of 715. He was in the field for some historic baseball moments that for sure.

I got to see him play live, at the old Jarry Park in Montreal, against the Expos in 1974.

I was in 4th grade, and at that time, he was my favorite player - as he was for a lot of kids, as he had
broken Ruth's home run record in April of that year.

He did it clean, unlike the cheating maggots like Barry Bonds.

Neighbor played in Negro league and was good friends with the Hammer. Always going to see him and always has great old school baseball stories. The Hammer was king.

Wasn’t it just last week he got the vaccine. And was stating he wanted to let African Americans know it was safe as this wasn’t another Tuskegee experiment etc.
