Why are banks refusing to accept transactions from state sanctioned businesses that are fully regulated. This isn't marijuana which is still considered illegal by the federal government. The government permits sportsbooks in states which have voted for legalization. There is no threat to shut them down. Do these banks think that federal regulators are suddenly going to swoop in and fine them for accepting the transaction. They are trying to be the moral police.

Nope, no legally sanctioned sportsbooks in our state

Politicians and Indians still fighting over their respective cuts

Why do Indians have to be involved?

Because both our casinos are owned by Indians? They're on "reservations"?

And I respect them a whole lot more than I do "politicians". If I were to insult anyone here, it would be the politicians.

Just got notice from Chase that starting on April 15th they're raising rates for the following CC cash like transactions

TERMWHAT IT MEANS
Cash-like TransactionsCash-like transactions will be treated as cash advances. Cash-like transactions include, but are not limited to, the following transactions to the extent they are accepted:

purchasing travelers checks, foreign currency, money orders, wire transfers, cryptocurrency, other similar digital or virtual currency and other similar transactions;
purchasing lottery tickets, casino gaming chips, race track wagers, and similar offline and online betting transactions;
person-to-person money transfers and account-funding transactions that transfer currency; and
making a payment using a third party service including bill payment transactions not made directly with the merchant or their service provider.

Citizens Bank of Philadelphia, they being of Citizens Bank Park fame is often not linked in NJ gaming sites. When Resorts who were one of the first NJ online sites I could do nothing with my Citizens Bank account. They are one of the largest local banks in Philadelphia and South Jersey. When I think of banking board of directors I think of 60 to mid 70 year old men sitting around making decisions. I know from his posts that Daniel Negreanu had a lot problems with banks in Las Vegas until he found one that would work with him. I think his issues were with sending large amounts of money to casinos around the world where he was playing high stakes poker tournaments with buy-ins in the $100,000 plus range. He went to Mexico last year to play GG poker online who were affiliated with the WSOP. They were offering high stakes online tournament so he had to deposit money into an account and must have had an issue with one of his banks. What should happen is this with so many states now offering online books or casinos. Licenses to operate banks in a state are granted by the banking commission in those states. The states are deriving big tax revenue from online casinos. They should tell all the banks if they don't accept gaming transactions to take their banks and business elsewhere because their charter will be revoked. They will change their tune in hurry because of the money they will no longer make on mortgages or auto loans in that state.

I am happy to help! Michigan recently legalized Online Gambling sites such as online casinos, sports books and online poker rooms. Comerica does not allow the use of debit card and web banking services for gambling sites. Currently discussions are occurring on how to proceed with the recent legalization in Michigan of online gambling and the impact to our debit card and web banking services that our Customers use. This should not affect Michigan Lottery Tickets. Your account may be locked by using such services

It's good to know that you can still charge Michigan Lottery Tickets on your debit card because lotteries are not considered gambling.

If you use your checking not a problem. Those fees have always been there. They are just being raised.

This is the same here in Virginia, where online sportsbooks became legal Jan 22nd for FanDuel and a couple more places a few days later. I had no problem with BOA, straight from checking. But their credit cards about a year ago, still would not work AT ALL regardless of fee for online horse racing websites, which has been legal for YEARS.
